Sholan,
I've found that drinking excessive amounts of beer-sing has induced a paunchy growth around the abdomen area. I'm not really keen on this growth and would like it removed. I do not really wish to give up the beer-sing probably due to a manifesting addiction.
Is there anything else I can do for the paunch? Surgery? Spiritual healing? Acupuncture? Hypnotism.
Thanks and regards,
GN.

As I've got older, I've found that regular low intensity exercise works very well. I cycle twice a day for about 25 minutes, six days a week, ( I use it to commute ) I make no attempt to go fast although I go up a few hills and I've found no more effort is required to keep in shape and I've been an enthusiastic beer drinker for 30 years.
When I'm in Hua Hin I spend about an hour a day cycling around the area west of the city near Black Mountain golf course, there is very little traffic and a selection of hills you can cycle up if you need a bit more exercise intensity.
The great advantage of low intensity exercises like walking, swimming and non-competitive cycling is that you don't generally get the injuries that I used to find messing up the more intensive exercise regimes that I tried when younger.

Where is that available in Hua Hin? And can I rent a motorbike in the same establishment?

I'm with Steve G. on this one..I cycle anywhere between 10 & 70kms, but when I do a 14/15km circuit up towards Blk mtn, then cut off, & head back into town on the Pala U Rd I have my cycle computer running..if you have a will to improve your fitness levels or to burn-off those kilos then trying to better your average speed or elapsed time over the same route/distance works well.
(Couple this with cutting down on eating rice with every meal will I'm sure see some results..worked for me 2yrs ago when I was pre-diabetic).

Burn more calories than you take in, keep off the beer. All of these bullxxxx ideas about easy weight lose without effort and complete tosh, if you want to lose it your gonna have to put some effort into it. fast walking is a good low intensity fat burner, walking the golf course instead of riding a buggy... a million things you can do but you have to do it and not talk about it!

I reckon Billy Connolly said it best ..... "eat less, move more".

Here's the weight loss regimen I've been following for quite some time:

Food: I have eliminated or cut back significantly on the following: bread, potatoes, rice, beer, sweets and desserts of all types. We have a salad for dinner twice a week and eat mostly Thai food the rest of the time. Breakfast is a bowl of high fiber cereal (All-Bran). Lunch is a single plate of Thai food, leaving the rice behind.

Exercise: I do this on weekdays. Weekends are for working in the garden: Run 6K every morning followed by 120 crunches (sit-ups) and 15 minutes with hand weights. I cycle about 10K late mornings and another 10-30K in the late afternoon.

Weight loss to date: zero

I'm 180cm (5'10") and weigh 80 kilos (175 pounds). [BMI is 24.7.] This is up from 65 kilos when I was running marathons.

I'm not that unhappy with my weight, it's just the gut and love handles that I'd like to eliminate

This thread was started by a spammer, but it could be useful ...

Have you tried a 5-7 day detox? I always lose 3-4 kilos everytime I do this. Do not eat anything that isn't fruit or veg for a week and the weight will drop, it goes straight back on for me after though as I don't do it to lose weight, have been a steady 73-74kg for about ten years.

With that regimen Ratsima you should be as fit as a proverbial butchers dog ... its far more than I do.

Yeah, I'm fit. And maybe my weight is right for me. After all, when I was still eating bread and potatoes and drinking beer I didn't add any weight. It's just that I look so awful naked. Thank heavens for baggy shirts!

I know someone who speed walks every day, yet is still as wide as he is tall. He's 69 and it is great to see him making the effort. Unfortunately he's not losing any weight. He admits to enjoying a beer, so that's one reason. Another is the shakes he drinks. 'Cha Nom Yen' (Iced tea) and Iced coffee. He says 'No sugar' but this makes no difference because the vendors add syrup or condensed milk. These use fructose corn syrup or aspartame. Virtually guaranteed to give you a flabby gut and make you addicted.
