From 4-1 down, Murray manages to claw his way back in it, to take the second set 7-5. Mustn't count the chickens too soon, but he's looking a good prospect to be crowned 2013 champion!!

Wow. What a final game. Djokovic looked totally deflated yet still made Andy work for it, with great play. Great comments from him too. The top tennis players today are terrific ambassadors for the game, gracious in victory and defeat.
A British winner makes history with an emphatic victory! Never thought he had it in him.
Congrats to those who called it correctly.

Congrats to Andy Murray
At 2-4 down in the third set I thought he'd let Djokovic back in the game, then missing three match points and giving the Serb the advantage.....but he kept his nerve.....certainly better than those of us watching !

The Dunblane native becomes Scotland's first Wimbledon singles champion since Harold Mahony in 1896. Mahony made his Wimbledon debut in 1890 exiting in the first round. He reached the semi-final in 1891 and 1892.[2] Mahony spent some time in America in the mid-1890s, before returning to England and finally taking the Wimbledon crown in 1896. In the final he beat Wilfred Baddeley of Great Britain in five sets: 6-2, 6-8, 5-7, 8-6, 6-3.[2] Under the challenger system Mahony was entitled to defend the Wimbledon title in 1897 but this time he was beaten in the final in three straight sets by Reginald Doherty.
