Anybody know name and number of the boys that do the above for bars or private parties here in HH?

Richard, there used to be a couple of guys doing this more or less across the road from Golden Place near the palace grounds but I can't say whether they're still there or not.

Another possible idea would be to ask around at one of the spit roast chicken places. Not the CP franchise places though. I know of one guy that does whole chickens on soi six, and his set up is amply big enough to do a piglet. It would, I imagine, just be a matter of negotiating a price.

Good luck, and keep us updated since I'm sure some others might be interested as well.

Richard, my wifes Aunty hires a guy for her bar sometimes with the full pig roast. Also White House Bar on Soi 80 hires one if you are up that way anytime you can ask them.
If you don't get a number elsewhere I can get you from Aunty in due course as she has had to go to BKK as her daughter was knocked down by a motorbike on Thursday night and Bkk HH hospital transferred her to Bkk for a leg operation.

You could also check the places in Cha-Am that do this everyday, Richard. They are located on the road leading to the beach.

Yes, we had one for a party last year and they came over from Cha-Am with the pig, barbeque and everything else in the back of a pick-up truck for I think, something like 4,000 bt. (There was a lot of pig and the dogs were happy for week with the bones!)

Thanks everybody

Think it's now growing to be a very popular event item whether a bar or a private function. The person I am asking for is having the event tomorrow night so any telephone numbers please as I'm not mobile today

Thank you in anticipation

I believe starts from 3,000 Baht but depends on the size of the pig. Don't know if it's the one from Cha Am but as Steve says they come in a pick up with the 'oil drum' BBQ and pig etc.

C'mon then richard, I've seen the photos on Facebook. Where did you get it, and what was the cost please?

Pagey kindly gave the number and they were also recommended by White House bar down soi 80. Seen the team at it before so they must be popular.

Don't know the cost but was told 3k to 4k is their going rate.

Pork was excellent. Succulent and the crackling crispy and crunchy and there was enough to feed the whole soi.

Took about 90 minutes to cook in front of the bar. Cooked and carved and they were away before many customers appeared. Third time I've seen them perform. Twice in a bar and once in a private home. In a bar scenario they lose a little to surrounding bars but as I said there was enough to feed the soi and enough for a take away without a bar fine :naughty:

Go to Cha Am and take a right turn at the traffic lights. There will be several places that can serve you in Hua Hin with this.
