Republican terriers

I was reminded a few minutes ago of a twice-daily occurrence in our soi that gives me a bit of a chuckle. About 3 houses down they have a trio of little white terriers (West Highland, I think), who are quite decent creatures for such a yappy little breed.

They have one collective quirk, however, which is that at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. precisely, without fail, they set up a cacophony of howling and barking that lasts approximately one minute.

Of course, they may simply be singing along with a certain piece of music (which is, let's face it, quite catchy), but it certainly doesn't sound like it!
