Lots of money spent by Spurs, but home-grown Andros Townsend produced the goods last night. And Soldado looks like a classic goal poacher in true Lineker style.

Gareth who?
Only tend to watch European matches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Thursday evening affair is a little low tier.
Question for the Spuds fans on here....
You are struggling for goals in the Premiership so why isnt Defoe featuring more often ? He's scoring regularly in the Europa League, including last night.
Its like he's being frozen out similar to Mata at Chelsea and Kagawa at United.
We're all on our uppers,we're all going skint,
I used to suck fat cigars but now I suck Polo mints.

I guess that if you've spent £20m on a new player, the manager has to try and justify his purchase!! Not trying to take anything away from Defoe as I think he's a good player, but last nights goal was from the penalty spot.
Actually, I've been wondering why Adebayor hasn't been given a run out, at least once, alongside Soldado or Defoe. He can be a pain in the arse, but he can also make things happen up front, and that's what we need at the moment to convert possession and chances into goals. We're still paying him, so we might as well see if he's worth using occasionally - he also has a point to prove.
EDIT: It might also help remind potential buyers that he hasn't fallen off the face of the earth...
Excellent performance from Spurs last night, with a good hat-trick from Soldado. Hopefully that will be just what he needed to boost his confidence and kick-start some goals in the Premiership!
Great stuff from Holtby too, and good to see Friedel is still sharp.
Fredericks looks a good prospect at right back.
It will be interesting to see who gets the nod up front against Liverpool on Sunday - my money's on Soldado. A big game, that one.

No, Soldado will be rested and Adebayor given his chance.
