IMO books are history. Ebooks readily available cheap or free. I have about 2,000 if anybody wants to copy them for free. The book shop on Petch near Soi 80 was for sale a few months ago, probably no takers for the above mentioned reason. Good luck anyway and welcome to HH.

Well, some of them - there's sci-fi, romance, thrillers, etc. as well...Pagey wrote:IMO books are history.

What have you, Pagey? Could you post a summary on the books thread?Ebooks readily available cheap or free. I have about 2,000 if anybody wants to copy them for free.

This is the way

Yes, I was trying to come up with a witty line but I couldn't either
Just had a recount. Just under 1,000 in MOBI format so Kindle ready and about 4,000 in EPUB format which can be converted to read on Kindle which I have done with a small sample. They only take up a couple of gig on my hard drive and 5 mins to copy. Unfortunately no listing. Not ones I specifically downloaded, I just 'inherited' them when I left work. Probably 90% dross but 10% is still 500 books !!
Edit : I wasn't aware there was a books thread.

I think that's a great combination - yes there are plenty of coffee shops, but combining a good one -without the inflated prices of the chain shops that make up the majority - with a used book shop where folk can sit and browse thruogh the titles in some comfort would I think be welcome by the main expat demographic in HH.
Whilst I enjoy e-books and using Kindle whilst travelling, I'm also of an age where I derive pleasure from browsing bookshelves for unexpected treasures.
In my coffee shops in Bangkok we roast our own coffee daily in store, which has proved very popular with customers ( and cuts our coffee bean cost in half!). Happy to share information on that with you.
Good luck.
