Post by Big Boy »

I've seen loads of advertising trucks with pictures of a bike and loads of Thai writing travelling around. I spotted this poster today, so I'm assuming its the same event:

BB, they have this event every year but it was cancelled last year because of the floods. Usually quite a few people being taken away in ambulances during the Kings Cup, I assume heat related cases but not sure. I was actually going to give it a go last year, but I won't bother this year because I've been too much of a slouch and need to get at least a bit fitter than I am just now.

 I could let Kaylene loose though after her Friday night class.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact

I only arrive the day before but I'll try and go and have a look as I might have a go at the 50+ category next year if it doesn't look too serious!

Some of us are going for a look-see on Sunday to Bor-Fai in the morning..I need a new seat for my MTB..from the many stalls there. I myself, like Takiap are not fit enuf to take part, but on Monday morning I'm planning to cycle down there & try ride most of the route (if the fenced-off sections still open..?),- & use parts of the trail on rides later.
IF anyone wishes to take part, then I'm sure the 300/350B entry fee includes a meal, & a T-shirt..so a good deal really.

Do they sell a lot of cycle spares there? I think I need a ginormous saddle for my rather cuddly backside  The seat that came with the bike literally brings tears to my eyes after about 8Km.

If they do, I might take a look out there myself.

Ha-haa..sorry BB..I've a feeling the saddles may be of 'racing' pedigree at this event.. :(
BUT, Joe from Linn's Cafe DID manage to purchase a comfortable, capacious item from HH Bike up there on Pekky Rd earlier this year..so simply march-on in there, give the lady a warm wai, bend over & ask if she's got anything to fit you..??? :thumb:
(Or they may have 1 for you within a week...worth a try..?).
