I don't know what's happening in Hua Hin, but we're getting flooded out here in Rayong! I would say 10cm and rising over the past 45 minutes. I though this stuff was over for the year! :banghead:

It's dry over here and the sky doesn't look very menacing at the moment although they are forecasting rain later this evening!!

Fabulous Sunday here on the Eastern Front. Temps under 30c, humidity about 51% all day, slight breeze. I feel like a different person when weather like this. Good mood for a change. :D It will be chilly tonight I bet. Hope enjoying the same over in HH. Pete

Seems very similar here, last night I even turned the ceiling fans off and just used the wind to keep us cool.

Unseasonal Cold weather in North Thailand

Post by Ken57 »

Hello Everyone

My wife is worried about here elderly parents in the North East, this news was in the daily mail today

The Thai government has labelled 65 provinces as disaster zones as residents struggle to cope with winter temperatures of 15C (59F).
In the North of the country a cold snap has seen the mercury drop as low as 1C (34F) in rural areas, with towns and city shivering in temperatures of 14C.
The Government is now handing out free warm clothing and winter blankets to chilly residents, and any province which has more than three consecutive days of sub 15C temperatures can apply for emergency funding.

65 provinces in the North / North East ???

There are only 76 provinces in all Thailand.
The North East has only 20 provinces and the North 16 in the 4 regions division system...

I have heard that the coldest province is Loei and I have been in Isaan many times, lived one year in Buriram and a few months in Mukdahan without ever seeing frost as you can see in the North, near Chiangmai.

Woo-hoo! I was out dancing in the garden late last night as it was the first time I could ever remember being able to do that here without sweating!

Perfect weather right now if only it didn't get quite so hot in the afternoons... If this is global warming, bring it on! :D :duck: :duck:
