Drive to any Central Department Store or Robinsons and you'll find your TOPS Supermarket. BKK/Phuket for ex.
Re: Topps Market in Hua Hin?
Jafo,
There's this GREAT little secret website a few of us have discovered. I'll share the name with you, but please don't spread it around too much--we don't want the site to get overloaded. It's called "Google.com"
If you go to this secret website and search Tops Market, Thailand, it will provide a link to the corporate website, and even to a "Store Locations" listing which shows all of their locations in Bangkok and around Thailand.
Good luck, and please, help us keep this amazing "Search" site secret!
Thanks

Bcrglobal,
WOW....... I appreciate your wonderful website named "Google"....
HOWEVER anyone who has lived in Thailand long enough knows, as it good as it may be, it has limited accuracy in a great many cases here in Thailand. Sorry but I have "Googled" many a place or thing here and then went to the location and A) It was not there or had moved, B) I found after googling a location and driving 30kms that it was just down the street but the company had not updated its site in ohhhh, let's say a year.?.?.
I had "Googled" previous to post but thought again and said why not ask the folks that live in the area...
Thanks for your wonderful website Google........ who would of known......

Re: Topps Market in Hua Hin?
To the other posters,
Thanks for the input. I suspected closest might be Pattaya as the website showed. I know any Central mall has them but have found quite a few off the beaten path over my years here. Like the lil Quickie Tesco marts.
Anyway not that big of a deal. Looking for something I know they used sell and Villa and Makro but they do not stock anymore.

Re: Topps Market in Hua Hin?
There is a Tops in Ratchaburi, in the Robinson centre. That is a lot closer than Bangkok or Pattaya.
Re: Topps Market in Hua Hin?
I decided to write Tops Market and ask them if they have plans to open a store in Hua Hin. This is the answer I got.
" We are pleased to inform you that we don't have any plan to open the store at Hua Hin this year, but we already passed your e-mail to related department for considering next year.
Is there any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail or call center 02 660 1000 (Open Everyday 9.00 a.m. -10.00 p.m.)
Thank you very much for shopping with us.
Best Regards,"
They answered me back in less than 24hrs which really surprised me. Nothing like emailing the movie theater about English movies. Anyway Tops is a pretty good store in my opinion and would be nice to have in town. Maybe if some others would send them an email asking about opening a store here, perhaps we could have a little influence on them. I don't see any reason why Tops wouldn't want a store here, I think they would do pretty good.

Re: Topps Market in Hua Hin?
Tops is way better than Tesco or Big C imo. When in Bangkok I've visited many Tops markets and am always amazed at the variety of choices and organization and cleanliness of stores as well as the fact that you can actually walk down the aisles without being blocked by employees restocking shelves or just lounging around. Biggest and best fresh foods section I've seen in any supermarket chain here.
Another one I'd like to see here is Foodland, who supposedly bought land here several years ago but have seem to have no plans of using it soon. They're not in the Tops class, but have a lot of imported foods and seem to be less expensive than than other supermarkets.

Had enough of the trolls. Going to sleep. I may be some time....
Re: Topps Market in Hua Hin?
If this is correct then we shall have one in Hua Hin as soon as Bluport is constructed and opened.icebear wrote:Drive to any Central Department Store
Re: Topps Market in Hua Hin?
Yes, all Central and Central Festival stores seem to have a Tops on the premises or nearby. The Topps in Pattaya has some good imported items, but the cold cuts and meats at Foodland are better IMO. Choices change all the time between the Big 3, Villa, Foodland and Topps. The best of all worlds is if you have all three in the same town and I'm sure HH will sooner or later. Bluport, 2 years or more.

Re: Topps Market in Hua Hin?
I don't think Bluport has anything to do with Central, it is a project of the Mall Group which are the owners of Emporium Department Store in Bangkok (which also has a very good supermarket on the top floor).
They also own Siam Paragon and several malls simply called "The Mall" in Bangkok.

Re: Topps Market in Hua Hin?
You're right on that 1 HHF, The Mall Group is behind Bluport...definitely read about a Central Mall in Hua Hin's future but can't find where I read it...time is catching up to me
