Best Sandwich?

Post by kelseyreichert »

I'm new to Hua Hin and reallllly craving a good sandwich. I've been going to Cool Breeze because their sandwiches are good and at a decent price (150 baht) but would like to try somewhere different.

Anybody have any suggestions on where to get a tasty sandwich at a reasonable price?

Wish I knew!
Several places that make a potentially good sandwich but use the wrong bread.
Several places that sell nice bread but don't make great sandwiches.
Hopefully one day someone will put it all together!

Oh, Petit Cafe on Sa Song Road might be worth a look, (but I have only ever tried the Croque Madame, which I like), and the place opposite, Cool Relax.

Go to morning bread in Soi 94 and buys some lovely bread - then to Villa and buy your fav fillings, then home and put it all together!

I have to agree with JW here. Whether you're a tourist or a new resident, everything you need for a great sandwich is readily available, and for 200 baht, you could probably have enough for a week!
Only difference is that I'd go to Hua Hin Bakery by the green supermarket past the big railway crossing. Been going there for 7 years and never disappointed.
This is the way

Is Subway still open.... pretty good sandwich for a fast food place.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

It has be open for years already, so must be doing something right.

As others have pointed out, good bread is readily available, and so are all fillings. Great tasting mayo is also very easy to make btw.

Tip: Make sure you buy the right butter - most Thai butter tends to be flavored, but not all.

Yes HuaHn Bakery does very good bread - just next to Gee Supermarket. Also worth trying are Euro Bakery and Admirals for smorgasbord.
The trouble is there are so many different nationalities in HH that you need to be more specific about what you are looking for. Or as already suggested - put a sarny together yourself. There's a wide variety of cheeses and meats available. Euro Bakery has a good deli selection. But you won't find anything like Greggs, or anywhere for a cheddar and beetroot sarny!

Come on, Mag's. I buy beetroot from Macro.
I boil it and then pickle some of it. Vintage cheddar is
readily available.
I used to like Warburton's bread when I lived in the UK.
S&P do a beautiful version...It's called, English loaf, or something
like that!

Seeing that the title of this post is "Best Sandwich" I am putting this forward.
I recall as a child that the most memorable sandwiches I had were on the beach when I was about 7 years old. My mother used to pack lunch and food for the day for my sister & I to take to the beach. We used to go to our beach hut on the Hampshire coast. After a hard day, swimming, climbing the cliffs :? beach combing etc. there was always a remaining hot "sandy" tomato sandwich left to share! Delicious, washed down with hot orange squash!
Later on in life, the best sarnies I like are from American deli's
