I've found the event on a Thai website which idicates an earlier start time, but I guess that's to cater for US's speeches - thet wouldn't be stupid enough to start firing off until after dark ......... would they?
Commemoration of International fireworks display scheduled tasks " firmament dazzling luminary to honor King Queen. Sri Glory Land " on Saturday , December 21, 2556 Time: 17:00 to 21:00 am at Bangkok Imperial Hua Hin . By rocket that fired a number of shots from three thousand five ships hulls of large ships in the sea front Klai Kangwon Palace , Hua Hin, about 500 meters away from the shore so he sees . When a shot is to be a model such as rocket sacred number 86 , which refers to the age of him , heart-shaped fireworks , flares, a cat, and music , among many , about 60 minutes.
The site also indicates rehearsals on the 2 days prior to the event:
- Minor repairs on 19 December 2556 at the same day practicality. But to test fireworks 2 minutes at 19:00 am , and the light and sound system .
- Rehearsal on 20 December 2556 at the same day practical reality. But to test the fireworks of music, one minute at a time and test 19.00 , lighting, and music performances.
It quotes best viewing areas as:
For the area to see the fireworks clearly. From the beach Hua Hin Airport to the Page School . Sofitel etc. The Vacation or guesthouse . At Beachfront Most travelers know that they are almost completely booked .
For people who intend driving to the event:
Parking is along the Petchkasem the public can walk down to the beach. ( Lock the car as well ) .

Hua Hin Fireworks Dec 21st 2013

Post by musungu »

I would like to take my wife out to a restaurant on the beach to see the firework display this Saturday.

I think it will be too crowded in town so I thought somewhere on the north side of town out towards Palm Hills ( maybe not so far)
anyway just nice Thai food with a restaurant stretching onto the beach area so that a good view if the display can be seen.

Also what time does it all start as I have not seen any information on this.

Your suggestions will be very much appreciated.

I think that if you can find a restaurant near the beach with views of the fireworks, you'll be sharing it with at least 500 others - good luck though.

If you read back through this thread, 2 start times have been given of 1700 and 1800. Of course, it isn't fully dark at those times. However, the first rehearsal was yesterday, and the fireworks started at 1900. There is another rehearsal tonight, so watch the sky, and judge for yourself.

As we know, the fireworks display is tonight. Here is some last minute information that I've picked up off the net:

- Asked to wear "pink " for the Fireworks along the beaches on both the north and south Wang , Hua Hin (except beach Wangkaikangwon ),
- The area around Luang Queen ceremony. It is the only VIP party . , The Ministry of Defense set for the card only the general public can not access it (I guess that's Queens Park)
- Those who don't go can watch live TV channels with the main channel TAT 5 from 18:00 am onwards.
- For the parking spot to park as many points as follows.
One . Wat Klai Kangwon Palace
Two . Boonthavorn Ceramics .
Three . Wanted
Four. Index Living Mall Hua Hin .
Five B - Quik limited.
Six Wangkaikangwon school . ( Formerly a school Wangkaikangwon ) .
Seven Areas along the edge of the road . Except for the red and white
Eight Roadside some 19 acres and 19 acres , parking space .

Apologies for the grammar, but basically Google Translated

Many thanks for sharing that info B.B.

Traffic may be dreadful due to all BKK SUV-owners parking where the hell they want..same-same as most weekends.. :guns:

Also hope some of the forum members taking photos tonight may share their pix on here later..

Good work BB. Thanks for the reminder. Just to expand a little:

Three should be Plearn Wan, which Google translates as "wanted" for some reason.
And Eight refers to Queens Park 19 Rai, roadside and car park.

Seems that you can enter 19 Rai at either Soi 19 or Soi 35 but won't be able to pass a section somewhere in the middle, which will be where the important people will be I guess.

Info from here in Thai.

Same information, but a different source. Your source is better than mine in that it advises there will be 4 displays at 20:00, 20:30, 21:00 and 21:30.

Thank you :D

Do you mean the Fish Dock? If yes, then that falls within the recommended viewing arc.

NB: The Fish Pier is closed.
