As far as I can remember, I haven't eaten breakfast for the last 9 or 10 years, but for some strange reason, this thread has got to me and I would like nothing more than a breakfast at the lodge. Will try to get there on the weekend with the kids. They don't like bacon or sausages though but I'm sure I'll manage to have theirs as well, along with their baked beans. They can have my fried bread.

That avo and bacon sandwich looks good. Never tried it before but that's only because I usually end up eating all the avo the minute I cut it open. Occasionally some will make it onto a slice of toast but that doesn't often happen. Absolutely love them.
PS: How about offering sausage rolls with baked beans on your menu?

That sounds good Terry! I'm not a fisherman so the only time I've been to the lodge was when the forum had an outing there a few years back, but I've just taken a look at your menu (on your web page) and saw several possible future lunches or early dinners there. Is your snapper (fish and chips) beer battered? There are plenty of items for the missus on your menu too so I think you can expect a visit in the near future.Anyways - the thought of some 'rocket' leaf in the bacon & avocado sandwich has only just occurred to me, so I will have to get Mrs.T to try it.

I've had gamey and tough venison steak and also tender and tasty ones. I don't know if the difference is farm vs wild or just the expertise of the chef.
Mrs.T gets the fish - Red Snapper, fresh from HH market regularly. We used to get it frozen from Makro - but supplies seem to have dried up. The market fish is top quality and Mrs.T gets it by direct order to one of the sellers in the market.
As 'Batter' seems to be all things to all people (As with English Breakfasts

Venison & Ostrich
We used to use a local supplier but found that it was inconsistent in quality - so again we now use Makro - which is frozen - in three grades. We only use the the best grade. But again, even at Makro, the supply does not seem to be regular, so unfortunately we may not always have stock. We buy when we see it there. Mrs.T serves the Venison and the Ostrich with her own sauce concoctions......

Ostrich does not have the full taste of a beef steak but as a red meat is a pretty good substitute for same - bearing in mind that it is almost totally fat & cholesterol free.
Anyways - this thread is about using good sausages and bacon from Hua Hin Ham & Bacon - which are both better than what you can get from Makro...........

You may have noticed that we are a freshwater establishment - not sea fishing.
However if only I could stock Trout - I would be a very happy man

Unfortunate. For me, both wheat intolerant (though it took years for it to become obvious as a result of my father's coeliac diagnosis), and lactose intolerant, the nightmare was a bowl of cereal! I even took the odd minor bollocking at school for not having a proper breakfast.Not if you're allergic to egg, it ain't!
Batter on fish was also something of an issue (wheat and oil again), though that is for a different thread. Nothing wrong with the odd kipper though - any takers?

I have kippers for brekky once or twice a week, not noticed them in Thailand though (waits to be corrected).

They may have kippered herring at Villa. I've found them at Foodland before. They're in a jar in the refrig section if I remember correctly. Good tinned sardines from Germany (smoked) and Norway are usually available. HHHB probably has all this stuff as well. Maybe not completely orthodox but works for me for breakfast from time to time, as does some fresh salmon (cold) or smoked salmon with a bagel and some cream cheese. I'm getting hungry.
