Was in BKK for other errands and took the Supercorsa to Eak Paiboon Motorsport Co Ltd for mounting and balancing. Initially K. Piroj staff didn't seem too interested in doing the work. My wife had spoken to her in Thai and the reluctance seemed to be because we had not purchased the tire there. (Difficult as be does not carry Pirelli!) When he arrived in person, after lunch, he agreed to do the job for 400 baht. I had him install a 90 degree metal air filler neck to make topping up the pressure easier (100 baht). The workman was carefull and paid attention to checking the new valve stem & the bead for air leaks before balancing. Picked up a set of Michelins for the click at the same time 1300 baht for the pair.

No demonstrators within 4-5 blocks and no more difficult getting around than any other trip to that area of BKK.

Anyone up for a ride this Saturday Jan 11?

Khun FJR1300 suggested a run to Pala U waterfall area. He says the road is ok, and knows a decent spot to eat around there. I am not sure how long it takes to get there, or what we might do to use up some time in case we are not hungry when we do get there. Anyone know more so we can plan route / timing?

Or does anyone else have a suggestion  for a new route and destination?

I am going out to mount up the new tire right now, then gas up and be ready to roll first thing tomorrow!!

No chance for me, as I'm in Bangkok and won't be heading to Cha Am for a few weeks.

Still owe you guys a pikkie of my new Hyperstrada, will try to post some time soon.

Had the 1,000km first service done yesterday at Ducati Thonglor, am told that is the end of my 'run in' period. No more 6,000 rpm limit!

My office is in Ekamai (next road to Thonglor), but the Protesters moved to that area for about 4 hours and completely blocked access, so I stayed at Ducati, and to avoid wasting my time, I had them fit the Termignoni Exhaust to my bike. Sound is terrific.

Promise to post pikkie soon, and hope to catch up with you guys some time soon.

Anyway, you guys have a fun ride this weekend.

Hilux, have you got the Kwacker now?

Looking forward to see you again. Just finished the first 800, so this time I can feed it a little more.

Indeed I have. And I just love it.
To be honest I was a little worried about the riding position, but after 800 KM's I have to say that it is the most confortable bike I have ever ridden. So I am really looking forward to riding it to Isan next week with my wife.

This is turning into a bike porn thread, love the hardware boys.

Anyone riding south this Saturday? Should be able to join as I'm heading that way.

Re: Burapa (Pattaya) Bike Week 2014

Post by Gin tonic - no lime »

If you want a REAL bike "experience" this is the Thai bike week to attend!! I have not been to the big one in Sturgis, but this is a hell of a shindig.... as my previous posts on this forum indicated. Worth a 2 day visit so you can see everything that goes on and the many thousands of bikes (no sh_t)!!

The 7 minute video in the second link here shows some of it, but does not give you the feeling of how big this event really is!!

Book rooms early, they can be hard to find on this weekend.

sorry Buksi should have referenced that one first!!

I don't know if I will make it this year, as conflicts with dates for a previously planned Mai Hong Son loop ride with Hilux and a few others from the Saturday riders group. That said, a few of them have expressed interest in a Kanchanaburi bike event followed by a Police escorted ride to Pattaya Bike Week using the BKK freeway system...
