So where's the fire?

Post by richard »

Palls of black smoke appearing over central Hua Hin and fire tenders screaming down Petcha (going north) past BK hospital just now

I've just got in. Saw the smoke while I was out, and went to rubber neck - unfortunately, unusual for Thailand, but Naeb Kehardt Road was closed off. Took a look down the road and the fire engines were stopped near one of the schools (closest one to Soi 51). No idea what's happened, but fire trucks were still arriving as I was driving away.

I know the one near the Railway Station, and the one just past the Palace (turn right at the lights as if going to 19 Rai). Both stations would have been closer than wherever richard saw them charging down Petchkasem from.

I've just picked my granddaughter up from the school where I could the fire engines parked outside. All that she could tell me was the fire was in a building directly behind the school.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they'd had to go to the reservoir by the flyover to top up with water before going to the fire...
This is the way
