Beach Side Restaurant at Suan Son
Re: Beach Side Restaurant at Suan Son
Depends which Big Buddha you're talking about. If you're talking about Khao Takiab, then, yes, about a mile from Khao Takiab. If you're talking about the Buddha at Khao Tao, no, that beach I think is called Had Sai Noi.

No BB the one at Khao Takiab. A few years ago we walked from the Sofitel down to where the cafes are at the bottom of the mountain where the Gold Buddha is and saw the beach round the other side.Big Boy wrote:Depends which Big Buddha you're talking about. Cannot remember how we got to it, but had some good places to eat, mostly locals on the beach and the beach was somewhat cleaner that the Hua Hin beach all the way down from the Sofitel

Yes, there is a stretch of beach there with a lot of beachside cafe/restaurants. Just past there is the Army Recreation Camp at Suan Son. It is the restaurant inside the army camp that I'm referring to.

Well at least it used to be free but last time there we had to pay a few Baht. Maybe 20 each, not much anyway. I didn't understood, or cared, if it was for entrance, parking or something completely else...Big Boy wrote:Yes, just to confirm, cars get charged 20 Baht by the guard at the entrance. I believe motor cycles are free.
Including a link to Google maps just to ensure that we are all talking of the same place:

The link is a little bit broken since I don't seem to be allowed to post a link...

If you copy the link, paste it manually into the address field in your browser and replace "%20" with a dot, it will work.

It may seem strange, but when I but petrol from that PTT I get 6 bars on my PCX guage as against 4 ( from empty) for B100 from my local at hin Lek Fai! So I always top up when I'm there. Just a bit further up the coast I notice that' 'Pranbury Beach' is spreading south, with a new breakwater and lots of new places to Eat/stay. We had a lovely time exploring on the bike at the w/e.
Enjoying 'Retirement'....So many jobs to do, I don't know how I ever had time to work!

I love these British expressions--- nip down, pop in.. Nobody ever goes or visits a place.
