I haven't seen them on sale, but the ones at Khao Luang Cave were about 4 feet long.

Can't say about a stuffed croc but I bought a pretty large inflatable one from the store just over the road from Papa John's on Soi 61.

I have neither monkey nor pool pigeon problems but doubt this is related!

Here is Colin the Crocodile (a.k.a. Arthur the Alligator) on monkey-scaring duty:

Worse case scenario is your big monkey grabs the handles and takes it for a ride!

It could be a good opportunity to make the trip to Lopburi and visit a nice ancient city or you can to to Khao Luang Cave, as Big Boy reported, and buy a second-hand one from the car park employees.

Did you get the owl in Thailand or does anyone know where I can get bird of prey decoys in Hua Hin. I have a birds in the carport problem dumping on the cars all the time (not pigeons... Mina birds and mostly sparrows).
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Don't take it personal when some of the replys contains humor...
Having thoroughly enjoyed the entertaining and humourously worded first post of the OP, I suspect he would have been disappointed if some of the replies hadn't contained humour!

A welcome addition to the forum and an example to all new posters.

I bought the owls and one hawk on Amazon, HHF, and had them shipped over. Pete

Thanks for all the good ideas. Think I will try the croc and the snake for sure (Just have to find out where to buy them).

Today, I found out that a sling shot works pretty well. All you need to do is show it and do like you are firing it and the monkey will move pretty quick. But the test was done on another monkey, so will have to wait for the big guy to turn up to test it on him. I however doubt he cares really, because he is after all "The boss" and this is one really smart monkey. But we will see, when he turns up.

Anyway, the monkeys are really not the actual problem. The main problem is people feeding them and not understanding that they are unpredictable creatures, that can be dangerous if you are not careful. The monkeys that come to our house only come, because people staying next door leave food outside and some even feed them, when they turn up.

Will report back, when further tests are done. Thanks again.

You seem to allude to him being a bit Clever or maybe a Wise Monkey in which case you first of all have to determine which of the 3 (or 4) wise monkeys he is.

If his hands are over his eyes then he "Sees no Evil" so the Crocodile is a waste of money, if they're over his ears then he "Hears no Evil" so forget the fireworks and if they're over his mouth he "Speaks no Evil" so conversation will be a bit challenging. The Final option if his hands are over his crutch then procreation is probably not his forte and you will have to wait till he passes away, safe in the knowledge that he has no siblings to pass his perch onto.

I was actually picturing a small, 2' + - real croc that had been stuffed. Never dawned on me that they would fall for a stuffed toy. The toy type should be relatively easy to find...or get sewn up. Problem for me is pool and house fouling pigeons may not be bothered by crocs. Pete

I actually doubt the crocodile will work on these monkeys, because I guess they have never seen a real crocodile before. So they will properly just tear it to pieces and leave it to me to clean up their mess :-) But I will give it a try.

The snake however might work better, although I am going to look like an idiot wearing a rubber snake around my neck all the time. But if it works, then thats just what I will have to do.

So now looking for a place in Hua Hin to buy a rubber snake and a plastic crocodile, so I can proceed with my "Scare the big monkey to death"-project. Until now the project plan and tests looks like this:

1) Show the Sling Shot and observe the reaction from the big monkey. If no reaction proceed to point no. 2 test.

2) Shoot the big monkey with the sling shot and run like hell, if I miss and/or it goes completely mad on me. (Which I honestly fear it will.)

3) Buy a plastic snake and throw it at the big monkey. If no reaction, then move to no. 4 test.

4) Throw a big plastic crocodile in the face of the big monkey.

If still no reaction, then I will properly get the water-spraying thing, which I really doubt it will care about. I mean these monkeys actually cliff dive for fun.

If the water-spraying thing also does not work and the monkey has not bitten me to death by then, I guess the only option will be to surrender and conclude that the monkey has won our personal battle and I need to get a real hobby. I however somehow fear our relationship might have gone more worse than better at that point. But we will see...

Anyway will keep you updated as promised. Please let me know if you see a big fake crocodile and/or snake somewhere in Hua Hin that is for sale. Oh, and please let me know if you know where to buy fireworks. Might be good to try that on him to.

Pepper spray should work the best, but I'm not sure if you can buy it in Hua Hin, everything mentioned above to me sounds just childish and more dangerous for yourself.

Pepper Spray is a fantastic good idea. Thanks, will add that to my to-try list.

The big monkey sometimes comes very close to me (1 to 1,5 meter distance), so that should not be a problem and I guess I will have time to run inside (if I hit the eyes), should he decide to go crazy and bite my head off.

But I think that might scare him enough to find another Soi and Farang to "play" with. And I really need a scare that is ENOUGH, so he does not return pissed off with me. I am betting on monkeys having long-term memory, when they get scared... and short-time memory, when they get angry/offended.

But again, I have no idea of where to buy pepper spray in Hua Hin??
