Okay cheers.
Well it was pretty simple, however the file was too large. Now I need to learn how to resize my photos

Re: Ruamsaeb Yokkhok
Found this place last december and went back and back there.
Now again in Hua Hin for vacation and out of our current four nights had dinner there three times.
Haven't found a better thai restaurant. Can recommend it highly

Re: Ruamsaeb Yokkhok
Went there tonight for dinner with my GF. I only had some bbq chicken (Gai Yang) that was good, the meat very tender; not 100% sold on the flavoring though, and some rice. My GF had several dishes, and tried a couple, and they were WAY TO SPICY for me!
Also ordered the large Coke and were surprised when we got an old fashioned 1 liter glass bottle.
My GF with 3 dishes and 1 rice plus my chicken with rice plus a large Coke for 380 baht!
Probably returning there later during our holiday e\here in HH!

It's very difficult to get 'Gai Yang' wrong and, as everything else was way too spicy, I'm not sure if I'll be going there solely for the old fashioned coke bottle...Chromeman wrote:Went there tonight for dinner with my GF. As it also seems to be around 85 baht a dish (if your girlfiend ate 3 then they can't be that large... unless she is of course), then it's not exactly a cheaply priced place either.
So many excellent options to be had in Hua Hin when I have the time to come home... this certainly won't be one of them when I do next month.
Thanks for the heads up

Re: Ruamsaeb Yokkhok
She ordered 3 dishes, but she was far from eating them all up...
The dishes she ordered were not small.
Her 3 dishes + 1 rice + 1 dish for me + 1 rice for me + 1 l Coke for 380 baht, gives me an rounded average of 55 baht.

Re: Ruamsaeb Yokkhok
At 55 baht a dish you're saying the coke and rice cost 160 baht... think I'm gonna puke.
In a fine establishment, sure, (the cost of the dish would be a lot more anyhow) but a joint like this (I saw the pictures...look at the table!) - no thanks.
There are so many options for good, reasonably priced Thai food with a beach setting, if you please, that there is no need to go to places with inflated prices like this in Hua Hin.
What's their Western food like? Now... if they have a shit hot western menu it could possibly make the trip worthwhile. Girlfriend can tuck into some 'decent' (if overly priced grub) and I can get some proper food.
Thai food isn't proper food... it's just cheap food. There are reasons why their kids are always at the doctors - it's the crappy Thai food diet that they eat. I like it all the same but I know it's not good for me.

Re: Ruamsaeb Yokkhok
Looks like you have problems with addition then...
3 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 7
฿380 / 7 ≈ ฿55
The som tam she ordered I think was ฿35. And I think the Coke was around ฿100-120...
I did not see any western dishes in their menu, only Thai and Isaan food. And according to other people who have eaten there, both friends of mine and others, plus my gf, the food there is very good.

Ah... you say they have Isaan food. Now that does tickle my taste buds. Once again, the stuff is not good for you (there's a reason people on a decent western diet are big and strong and a Thai/Isaan diet skinny and weak).
I did think it sounded like an Isaan place 'Ruamseab' so may, just may, try it if that's what it specializes in. A Thai restaurant can't claim to specialize in Thai food in Thailand, really...
That maybe why the prices are slightly inflated as there aren't many 'nicer' places to sit down and have some well cooked Isaan food. Normally have to keep my eyes peeled for the ol' pestle and mortar street stall selling som tam to get my fix of... Nam dtok or larb.
I'll wait for our resident Isaan foodie HHFarang to give it a whirl before I make the trip...

Edit: Apologies Chromeman... just re-read the thread and you had already stated that it was mainly Isaan food.

when it comes to the health of diets it would appear that your ignorance is bottomless.

What makes you say that? If you ask me, GLCQ is right on the mark with his comments regarding the average Thai diet, especially when it comes to kids, most of whom live on snacks, rice, eggs, noodles, chicken and pork.
Even here at home, if I leave the feeding of our kids to my MIL, they would eat nothing but omelets and rice, and of course a few quick and easy street meals like BBQ chicken with sticky rice; khao man gai, etc, etc. How often do you see Thai children eating a proper healthy meal?
Admittedly, some Thai adults eat healthy, but I'm yet to see their kids eating healthy meals.

Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact
Re: Ruamsaeb Yokkhok
My GF did say that the Isaan food she tried was very good, and I guess she should know since she grew up on it in Kabin Buri since her mother is from Isaan.
