2014 F1 Pool
Re: 2014 F1 Pool
Received from Superbru:
"Our general policy with post result changes (for all tournaments) is to keep the final result from the end of the race (or match/game). However, with this scenario taking place at the start of the season we're reviewing the impact of this policy for F1 and we're awaiting the outcome of the Red Bull appeal before making a final decision regarding this matter."
If I read that correctly; 1) The result may never change, or 2) If it does it won't be until after the Red Bull appeal.

Re: 2014 F1 Pool
Thanks Pharvey. Nothing in the press this morning that Red Bull has lost their appeal. The process hasn't even taken place yet. I guess if they win it SB will reverse the numbers. Why they didn't wait as they said they would I have no idea. Pete
EDIT: Just found this on the SB site:
"Important Notice
Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo was disqualified from his 2nd place finish in the Australian Grand Prix after stewards decided his car had run with too high a fuel flow rate during the race. Red Bull is appealing this decision. If the appeal is successful and Ricciardo is re-instated into 2nd place, SuperBru scores will be updated again to reflect the original race finishing positions.

Re: 2014 F1 Pool
This is what I would expect. When you gamble on sports, for example, you always gamble on the official classification after the event, regardless of any subsequent disqualifications, so I would imagine most gaming systems would follow that logic tooprcscct wrote:Received from Superbru:

Re: 2014 F1 Pool
Gonna frame shot of JW in front... maybe this season (certainly first 4 or 5 races) will suit my "try and get the first 5 and then just click away" method of picking.
So cool to see Riccardo drive so well.. but a little ominous that Red Bulls supposed lack of pace wasnt there... if vettels car had performed it could have been a great race.
They defintley need to turn up the volume of those V6s!

Re: 2014 F1 Pool
It's not easy this season. Today's two practices in Malaysia still have me scratching my head concerning picks. I may have to wait for practice 3.

I'm afraid I've had another jump-start and picked already. I thought today was Saturday

Useful advice but the problem is knowing the difference between Friday and Saturday, not my strong point.start visiting it each Friday morning
I think I've got a good spread this week, even if it rains.

Re: 2014 F1 Pool
Slightly off topic - will bars be open to show the race today, albeit serving fizzy pop only? I was thinking of popping into town to see the race.
I managed to get a BBC stream for quali, always fun when it's rain delayed as they have to pad time grabbing interviews with anyone they can...the bloke from Pirelli, The Williams reserve driver Suzi Wolff, her husband Toto the Mercedes principal, quite a few engineers, the Caterham reserve driver. Thank god they did some laps in the end.
Seb pushed Lewis very close but it will be interesting to see how Redbull go at race pace, throw some rain in and it could become very unpredictable.

Great to watch. Mercedes seemed to dictate and control from early on and no doubt all would have been different if the weather had replicated the practice conditions

Re: 2014 F1 Pool
Superbru still hasn't updated their tables. I assume they will sometime Monday morning SA time. I post the below in the interim.
One thing that sticks out is that there's been seven retirements in each of the two races so far. That's about 32%. I guess we'll see numbers like this for the first half of the season until they get the bugs out of these new cars. Pete
