I think that the military, after going out of their way to depict this as a friendly coup, are worried that if they ever decide to have an unfriendly one, they will struggle to see the opposition for all the backpackers taking photos, Thais playing on the tanks with their children, TV crews, journalists, go-go dancers, and food vendors trying to feed them all!
