Burger King coming to Market Village
Re: Burger King coming to Market Village
It was definitely later than 2002 as my first visit to Hua Hin was 2003 and we decided that open air restaurant sitting directly on the spot where McDonald's is now had the best Thai food in town and ate one meal there nearly every day. The only fast food chain restaurant in town back then was Burger King.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I know it's a little bit delayed but as there are no 'like' functions on this forum I just thought I'd say...Pleng wrote:You've made it almost much impossible to quote you there so well done.Khundon1975 wrote: <stuff>
You saw them eating burgers and asked them why they didn't try Thai food.Where was the challenge?
I can only go by the wording of your original post. In which you said that YOU asked them if they liked Thai food and THEY REPLIED 'Yuk''. Sorry for jumping to assumptions about what order this happened in but you really need to stick to standard English practices otherwise you'll cause no end of confusion.where was the assumption in my post? How do you know where, in the long conversation I had with them, the word YUK was used? It's not obvious at all!
So, they said 'YUK' first? That makes it a pretty bizzare story to be honest.
"No accounting for taste" implies a lack of tolerance for these people's choices. Or, at best, an air of superiority that you yourself prefer Thai food.Where do I say, that they could not eat their choice of food?
That's because in your original story, you DIDN'T post it. You're original story was "I asked a bunch of sailors why they were having McDonalds instead of Thai food"/Maybe you did not read what I posted, TRY AGAIN
Where did you come to the conclusion that you believed that I don't think you like Thai food. Why would you try and make others eat Thai food if you yourself don't like it. That would make about as much sense as saying 'YUK' before you've even been asked a question. How you came to the incorrect conclusions, that I did not like Thai food and was trying to force it down their throats, is beyond me!
No, but saying "They preferred burgers to Thai food - No accounting for taste" implies that you believe they are wrong to do soGiving someone reassuring advice, is not forcing them to eat Thai food.
I have to completely agree with Pleng's posts against Khundon's. Unless something has been completely lost in translation of course. T'was quite the bizarre set of 'situation's' (Khundon's 'story') the way I read it and quite strange.

There's a 'thumbs up' as well as an 'I agree' icon. I find the whole argument quite strange personally, way beyond taking sides.
This is the way

In an effort to return this thread to BK. One thing they do better than Mickey D's is that they have those little containers of liquid creamer for coffee. I suggest a particularly nasty place in hell be kept for the inventors and promoters of CoffeeMate.

"Khundon, I think you have your timing wrong (or maybe this story came to you in a dream and you thought it was real
). Seriously, I think you mean Burger King, which was across a small side soi from where Buffalo Bills was located back in those days."
You could be right hh, it could of been BK. Same meat, different gravy, as far as I'm concerned.
Definitely not a dream though and I wasn't on

I have taken the liberty of popping the application in the post.
Good luck

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
Re: Burger King coming to Market Village
I've just noticed that the Burger King is open from 7am. Wonder if McDonalds will follow suit - that's a full 2 hours before they open.

It is interesting that Asian people in general, although disliking western food have acquired a taste for McD/BK food. This is particularly true of younger people
Re: Burger King coming to Market Village
That's because McD/BK sell fried chicken...oakdale160 wrote:It is interesting that Asian people in general, although disliking western food have acquired a taste for McD/BK food. This is particularly true of younger people

Re: Burger King coming to Market Village
It was a nice place for a few glasses and a bite to eat but it was empty on many occasions when passing by. From a business point of view I am sure it closed as being unprofitable in that position. I did like the place but has been replaced by another business (like McD) that I will not be patronising.Gaja wrote:What a shame, we just loved the winebar, it was the best place in town....
