You sure that wasn't a brain transplant? He's had the hair done already - it looks a bit tight, like all of his feutures, the dumb, lacking a brain open mouthed stare so typical of that class of S'american footballer. Maybe the hair being pulled back so tight causes it, or maybe he's just a prat?

I would suggest he and his colleague's arrival have been negatively disruptive to the team since the nano second they were forced upon the manager.

The Hammerski have been crap since they arrived - they probably have it in their contract that they have to play? The pundits are raving about them them though???

My gues is that part of the overall plan is to play crap for this season to ensure West Ham's relegation. This would of course nullify any contract that the Hampsters have with the Argies or MSI.

The way things look right now is that, (after the weekend break for England to play a Euro Champs qualifier against Chechnya, or Albania or somebody from that neck of the woods), that with Charlton beating lowly Fulham and a surprise win for Watford at Arsenal, with Sheffield Utd and Boro both getting draws and the Hampsters losing 3 - 0 away to high flyers Pompeii they will then be propping up the foot of the table.

No team that has gone bottom after an England International has ever managed to stay in the premiership.

To me the whole scenario fits into place with the three westerners getting promotion. The only question is who will join West Ham and Sheffield United into the Championship. Watford and Charlton have too much grit to drop leaving Middlesboro favourites (poetic justice IMO).

The Argies along with Harewood and a couple of other on form Hampsters will be free to transfer.

More Argie Hampster news from BBC
Argentines urged to quit West Ham

Basile told Argentine website TyC Sports: "I think they're half-hearted and I'm really worried. They play as if they're unenthusiastic.

Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano have been advised to leave West Ham by Argentina national boss Alfio Basile.
Since the Argentine pair signed on transfer deadline day from Brazilian club Corinthians they have struggled and West Ham have failed to win a game.

"I hope both of them leave that club as soon as possible."

Basile took over the Argentina post from Jose Pekerman following the World Cup in Germany.

Both Mascherano and Tevez were part of that squad that exited the tournament after losing to Germany on penalties in the quarter-finals.

Basile added: "I hope for God's sake that Mascherano can go to Juventus as it has been said, even if he has to play in the second division in Italy.

"And Tevez can play in any position in the attacking line, but not as a left-winger like he is currently playing."

There is an eerie silence coming from the resident West Ham supporting mod. I guess for him the rapid change in six weeks from great enthusiasm for his club down to the very realistic possibility of the Hampsters propping up the bottom of the premiership in 9 days has left rather a larger lump in the throat which has caused writers cramp when regarding the subject.

The whole Plymouth affair must be offputting also. For every promotion the must be a relegation. It would be a bitter pill to swallow if the exchange was Plymouth for West Ham but right now that looks like more than just an outside possibilty.

No, just can't be bothered with all the claptrap coming out of the media on this. Sure the team's form hasn't been great, but I don't believe that is down to the two new players, and in fact Teddy Sheringham has come out and said there is no problem in the dressing room. A few of the key players from last season (Reo-Coker, Konchesky, Etherington, Harewood) are not performing as they were, and it may have escaped notice that we have a couple of key players out injured, namely Ferdinand and Ashton, while the back four has not been the same for two games running due to other injuries. So our current position is down to form and injuries, no more, no less. Pardew will get it right and we will be nowhere near the relegation zone come the end of the season.

I think what Teddy meant was that the Argies were able to do up their own boot laces and put the brylcream in their hair without a hairdresser present.

Just thought I'd give you an update on Plymouth's plans:

1. City council has finalised the transfer of the stadium back to the club. This now means that Paul Stapleton can ensure he has a stadium large enough to cater for next season's Premiership crowds.

2. Ian Holloway is in the final throws of putting his backroom squad in place. The team have done really well so far this season, only having lost 2 matches with a skeleton backroom staff.

3. Several class players lined up for when the transfer window re-opens (I've not seen any confirmation of BaaBaa's posting of 7 Sept yet, but I have no reason to doubt its accuracy) to ensure the final push for promotion is achieved.

4. The new shopping centre opened in Plymouth 2 days ago. Names such as Gucci and Armani have invested in prominently placed retail units at the new centre to enable them to cater for the WAG (Wives And Girlfriend - never having been in the limelight before in Plymouth, these buzzwords are going to take some getting used to) element that will be arriving imminently.

5. The 2 triallists currently at West Ham are getting a good feel for life at the lower end of England's footballing hierarchy. An article in the local press 11 days ago quoted Tevez as saying that he can't wait to finish his apprenticeship, and move in to the big time.

6. Plymouth's Falkland's War museum is proving to be a bit of a stumbling block to the Argie move, but Paul Stapleton is in talks with the local council to have it re-located.

7. As a gesture of goodwill, Ian Holloway has already offered West Ham the chance to play Plymouth in a pre-Season friendly at Upton Park next season to thank them for acclimatising their stars of the future. He has apologised for the venue having to be Upton Park, but the re-vitalised Home Park will not be ready until 3 days before the start of the new season.

Everything is looking really good for Plymouth at the moment, and I know they are really grateful to both West Ham and classified for nurturing their class players in preparation for next season. Personally, I am gratified that we have an English tycoon taking an English team to the top at last. I have had to classify the second team above, because I don't believe it is common knowledge that they too are nurturing a Brazilian player in preparation for Plymouth's drive to the top next season.

Have just been reading this evening's local paper. They are suggesting that rather than leave West Ham stranded without Plymouth's apprentices next season, as a gesture of goodwill, Ian Holloway is prepared to release a couple of this season's Championship side to fill the gaps. They have quoted Holloway as stating that these players will do an excellent job in any Championship side.

At last, something seems to be going right for the Hampsters!

Maybe then there is some truth then that a certain slim ex Spice Girl may be making a guest appearance at two of her favourite boutiques before the start of next season.

The Spanish press are stating that Beckham will be freed up at the end of this season and has said that he wishes to return to England to a permanent retirement spot in Southern England where he can find a suitable environment for his family. He wants to give them the benefit of a proper education that he never had and they will be able to talk proper.

If he wants his kids to talk proper like he doesn't, then he could do a lot worse than bless them with a good West Country accent.

However, Guess' statement fits in very nicely with the recent report of VIPs at the private school near Tavistock.

I see from this morning's news that there is a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel for West Ham. It appears that they are already trying to build for a swift return to the top flight.

They have just extended Bobby Zamora's contract through to 2011. Combined with the promise of 2 of Plymouth's promotion winning players next season, they are already laying the foundation stones for a successful Championship campaign.

They are owned by MSI.
... the players were impressed by Alan Pardew, the team and the club, that there is no ulterior motive, and that it is just a fantastic coup for the club. ....Now if any of you don't believe any of this it's up to you, but please don't keep on saying the same tripe the gutter press are! :thumb:
An old thread, but it will be interesting to see how West Ham's Argentinian signings perform under their new manager.

They clearly had a great raport with Pardew and did so well under him you have to wonder if there is any room for improvement.

I knew this would come up! If you look at most, if not all, South American players who come to play in England, they all struggle in their first season or two, because of being in a strange country and the big difference in the way football is played here. Even players who come from European countries like Spain, France or the Eastern European countries mostly struggle in their first season, and the media will often trot out the line about needing time to settle in when they are playing for one of the 'hallowed' big 4 teams, but when it is someone else there is no excuse apparently!

Ardilles slotted into the spurs side like a duck in water.

Ricky Villa took a bit longer.

These 2 as far as I've seen are well off the pace!
