I was told to send off for it at least 3 months before it runs out.
And make sure it has at least 12 months on it if you're going to re-new your retirement visa.

Oh dear! Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for the Passport Office...


The Passport Office insisted it took security "extremely seriously" after it emerged that a passport, birth certificate and visa documents were sent to the wrong person.......

This is reported on Sky News today, not sure how it works or if it will help anyone here.

The increase has in part been blamed on the closure of regional application offices at embassies across the world. Theresa May announced British citizens abroad would automatically get a 12-month extension.

Good - let the Government be accountable for their penny pinching and massive job cuts policies. These people who think Civil Servants are a waste of space, because the Government have told them so, are now starting to see reality.

Civil Servants were cut to the bone years ago, but remained the easy option to save the Government money.

Apologies if you're being affected, but as an ex Civil Servant, the Government's policy's were never going to work. Contrary to common belief, Civil Servants are human.

My apology wasn't directed at anybody specifically. None of my ex colleagues want public hardship, but the Government's policies against the remaining Civil Servants have forced them into this action.

They have been cut to the bone, and have effectively taken a cut in pay each year for the last 5 years.
