Barking Dogs

Post by Big Boy »

Our dogs (and those of the neighbours) have been going crazy since about 2am last night - I couldn't see why in the dark. It eventually calmed down just before it was time to 'wake up' this morning.

I'd been up about 20 minutes when it all kicked off again - I went outside to see what it was all about. It looks as if somebody has dumped a herd (well, 4 that I've seen) of cows in the mini jungle outside of our house. There were 4 cows rummaging through the rubbish bin.

I've no idea who they belong to, or whether they've simply adopted squatters rights. We're now having to keep a very close eye on our dogs, especially our rottweiler - she loves a good steak.

I guess it's sleepless nights now, until somebody evicts/eats them :?

They beat Tavistock :D

Back to the cows, it looks as though there's either a bull or a dyke amongst them. So maybe the sound of little hoofs soon.

You can bet your life that somebody owns them and I suspect they will be moved on before the end of the day. As much as your Rottweiler might enjoy a steak, better remind her that cows have a fairly strong kick with their hind legs.

She normally goes straight for the throat

I was just thinking, could this be manna from Buddha, and should I fire up the BBQ?

At least 2 of those "cows" are steers. If you are going to eat one I recommend the small brown one. :thumb:

There's usually someone who tends wandering cattle, at least over here. They get very close to the golf course here and serious caution is needed! I think they take them to various places where the grass/foliage is green, and then move on in a day or so. I bet they're gone soon. Pete
