Hua Hin Video thread
Re: Hua Hin Video thread
Don`t forget about the exclusion zone. There is also an airspace exclusion zone from the south end of the airport to south of the palace.

Can you let us have a few more details about your UAV and camera? I have been trying to source something that does not involve selling the kids to pay for it. PM is ok if you do not want to make it public.

Great video, makes me want to move to Hua Hin, looks like a great place to live!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: Hua Hin Video thread
Thanks JJB - really enjoyed that!
Re: Hua Hin Video thread
Just be careful where you use it...

Taking advantage of this unusually long spell of dry weather for August, I was asked to take my aerial camera to a friend's house yesterday evening. Sat on his terrace, we took off to see the spectacular sights nearby and flew over Lat Patou Temple as well as Wat Phuttha Chaiyo before coming back down to earth near the pool.

^ Another good one! Pete
EDIT: On a real clear day maybe take it up to the max, point it east/northeast a few degrees and see if you can see this side of the gulf.

You didn't miss one of those temples by much!!
Re: Hua Hin Video thread
Wow, great shots.
How do the cameras work? Are they just attached to a drone? Do you have to use stabilization after (seems way too smooth).
Appreciate any comments

Re: Hua Hin Video thread
^ there is some detailed explanation about the system in the UAV thread. The camera is stabilised by an electronic gimbal that insulates it from most movement of the drone itself and there is no stabilisation in post; it's that steady.

In the spirit of the OP, I thought that I'd add a couple of videos around Hua Hin. I'm starting with a simple video of the ride from Pone King Phet Public Park to Hin Lek Fai. The route I took was:
There is a bit of a rattle on the video, so it's better with sound muted.

I went for another short drive yesterday. This time from Hua Hin Post Office to the Chinese Temples at Khao Takiab.
Please ignore me running a red light at 26 seconds . Actually, if you look at about 15 seconds, we are being ushered through by a police officer. Several came through the red after me.
Unfortunately I had my new(ish) camera set to 4K, which is too strong for video editing software, without spending cash. So, lesson learned and 2 videos for this journey. Actually, it works quite well:
- Video 1 shows the bulk of the journey to the temple area.
- Video 2 shows the drive on Monkey Mountain, where I'm inunded with monkeys, and a big surprise at the end.
Here is the route I took:
So, here's video 1
and here's the second one

It's the mount vibrating on Thailand's beautiful roads. I thought I'd turned the sound off - still learning

J.J.B. Great videos, especially the view of HH beach. so clear.
If you get the chance, could you do another of the beach from about half a klick north of the fishing pier. I may get to see our house.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

Would love to, perhaps next time I'm in town as I flew out yesterday evening but will be back soon - just not sure when.Khundon1975 wrote:
