90 day reporting

Post by dtaai-maai »

There are a number of threads dealing with aspects of 90 day reporting ("for non-O visa", "retirement extension", etc.), but no single thread for all aspects of the topic. So I've started another one...

Mrs D-M is doing her 3-monthly visit on my behalf today, and as I was sorting out the form it occurred to me that we have lived in Petchaburi province since March 2013 (having moved from HH), but have never been asked for any evidence of our new address and continue to do all our business with HH Immigration office, despite the fact that it is in a different province. I don't even know where the Petchaburi imm. office is!

I'm not remotely concerned by this, but slightly surprised in view of the fairly strict attitude to the more trivial aspects of immigration requirements. Does anyone else have similar experiences?

I too come under Petchaburi province but have never had any problems doing my 90 day reporting in HH although I'm fairly certain that I have provided them with my Cha Am address. I don't know for sure, but suspect there's an immigration office in Petchaburi itself but that's at least twice the distance of the one in HH.

I use my new address, but I've never been asked for any evidence to support it.

The only thing I remember is that when I filled in the TM7 I obviously completed the address in English and the immigration officer queried the name of the road, so I showed her my Thai driving licence for clarification, but I'm pretty certain it was not used in an official capacity, just so that she could get the spelling correct.

When I changed address, I simply handed over a TM28 at my next 90 day report. They didn't query anything, so I guess it was OK.

The form required for 90 days is TM 47. If you read it it the wording is:

"I have now been staying in Thailand for 90 days and my present address is"

It does not ask you where you live, only where you are today. I sometimes file mine in Bangkok and use that address, while my permission to stay address is in Hua Hin.

The same will apply if you are travelling inside Thailand and the 90 days comes due.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!

I think every province in Thailand has an Imm office and failing that there's the cop shop to report to.
A few years ago, there was some speculation that Imm required us to report in our province of abode but when the proverbial hit the fan regarding traveling around the country at report date, that "requirement" seemed to melt away.

Nereus has it correct. I live in Nakon Si Thammarat but Surat Thani is 20 km closer so I always do 90 day in Surat Thani. There just asking where your living now so they don't care where you file it.
