Director - western. Work Permit rules

Post by magsandbilly »

Hi there

There is a scenario whereby the director of the landholding company is a Farang. He requires a WP in Thailand. Conditions of a work permit is that the company must employ 4 Thai nationals for every western WP.

If the company employs a management company to manage the estate do these management company employees cover the issue of employing 4 Thais?
i.e
Western Director with work permit has company A. He employs company B to run his estate. Company B have the Thai staff who manages the estate. Does this cover his WP conditions of employing 4 Thai staff?

Does anybody know if this is acceptable?

I highly doubt it - you're contracting so you're employing zero employees in that situation.

The Company needs 4 Thai employees for every work permit issued, all need to be employed by the same company as stated on the work permit, and working at the address stated on the work permit.

Hi
Many thanks for that. I did feel it would be that way.
