Bugger. It's fried my router, lucky I have a spare. Does it come down the phone line to do that? Must get myself a UPS now before I regret it.

You need a boat over in Rayong also, to go anywhere! We pray for it, get it....now we perish!

I would say we're way over the predicted mm amount for the day already. It's coming down in sheets and not letting up. Pete

I've just come back from a drive up Lake Petchkasem, and a few of its tributaries. Will hopefully post some videos later.

It's either feast or famine here when it comes to rain...

Today's floods were the best I've seen here so far.

In my ten years of living here, and a further eight visiting, I can't recall ever witnessing the weather that I have today. On the outskirts of Bangkok we were all expecting a good bit of rain soon as the rainy season had been much like an English drizzle... at most.

Then along comes today. At around 14:00 we had the kind of downpour you'd expect to be coming daily at this time of year. It stops after half hour. Half hour later another one comes along. Fair enough, the Man upstairs has been holding it in for a while now, you think. A few hours later, at around 17:00, comes another much heavier soaking. This lasts about 40 minutes. The storm comes to an abrupt halt... "That's it then. Long overdue", one assumes. A mere 5 minutes later comes a heavier onslaught that lasts a good twenty minutes at least. The weather has continued this pattern, with it's 5 minute breaks, up until now.

Outside it is heaving. Now I'm someone who likes the rain... Cools everything down, but this is ridiculous.

I blame the Thai police.

At last we are back to normal with the start of a good rainy season.

Water and floods abound although down on previous flooding due to better drainage
Cricket and frogs in full voice
Temperatures down and dusty cobwebs blown away

Great so see and feel

Long may it continue

Long may it continue but in my 9 years here I seem to recall that if the rain season started late ie vertually nothing until late August, then we had quite good rain from September, but really missed out July/August. and lakes never refilled to their normal level.

I would be interested to hear other comments on this

^ We do love our dogs here. Ours, who is normally not allowed inside because of my allergies, has spend most of the last day and a half sitting on a towel inside because of the weather. She is deathly afraid of thunder and lightening.

OK Pete we've had enough for this week. Our sole tourist is complaining. Can you put it into reverse and take it back please :)

Seems to be over for me...at least during daylight hours. Been partly sunny, but dark clouds approaching now. Pete
