I am one of the people that said that I live on Soi102 and have never been floodedBig Boy wrote:My daughter tells me it was waist deep in places in Soi 102 yesterday. I think the rumours that it doesn't flood any more were exaggerated by property owners.
My daughter was telling me that one friends house needs new furniture most years. So I guess that they may have partially solved the problem, but it still exists in places.
Having said the above, they are digging a couple of HUGE holes at the railway end - I don't know if that is anything to do with drainage.
That is still the case! I have been here seven and a half years now, and at no point as benmo quotes have we ever been flooded. Previous comments almost imply that people are deliberately telling lies about this!!
Soi 102 is a really long road, and it is a small section that has had floodwater. The properties on the left, as you drive up from the main road have had some flooding, but properties on the right have not at any time.
The area that is known a Nong Khae village, is the lowest lying point, and there are problems there ...but this is not Soi 102, even though many think it is.
The recent rains have brought flooding all round Hua Hin town, Petchkasem road, Soi 88, Soi 94 ..from the photos posted on my friends facebook pages, and from what I have seen from my travelling around town, Soi 102 has fared better than some places, with the torrential downpours we had just experienced
I will add that the road and drainage improvements are not as good as one would have expected...
As we had had no flooding prior to them, we thought there would be fewer problems for others after their completion.. so that is a disappointment
Lets hope the big hole... can help the less fortunate few
