Saturday 8th November from 17:15 to 18:45. An event I've often thought that I'd like to see - a mass launch of hot air lanterns from Hua Hin Beach.
I'm guessing that this is part of the City's Loy Krathong celebrations.

Well, I went along this evening, not really knowing what to expect. I was hoping to see a mass launch of hot air lanterns. I saw a couple of 'illegal' lanterns launched, but in the main, it was yellow balloons that were launched.
The event was geared towards meditation, and run by monks. The opening ceremony featured a load of hangers on following a group of flag bearer, before taking their VIP seats.
Lighting for the event was by candlelight, which proved to be very colourful. Towards the end, the candles were supplemented by fireworks.
I'll let photos say the rest.
