Our fan-assisted electric oven is blowing the main fuse when switched on.
Bearing in mind that this is absolutely not my area of expertise, are there any quick and easy solutions or will I have to wait until an electrician can look at it?

electric oven solutions
This is the way
Re: electric oven solutions
If it blows the main fuse as soon as you switch it on, then it could be the plug or the cable. If you unplug the cable just after the fuse has blown, you could probably feel some heat along the cable or on the plug.
If the problem is inside the oven, you'd better have an electrician look at it.

Re: electric oven solutions
we had a extension cord with a electrical box with a fuse that was starting do the same when we turn on the oven allready at 150 degree, have worked fine for 2 years.
I just changed it and no problems since, but maybe it will be the same after some time.
It's one of the better quality extension cord, so if someone have a good explanation I would be interested to hear about it.
DM does yours connected in the wall socket, or do you allso have a extension cord ?

Re: electric oven solutions
It was plugged into a wall socket, then we tried a different socket with an extension lead - same result.

sound like it's your oven imo, recipe sounds good will try it one day

Re: electric oven solutions
It could be any one of a number of things: fan motor, element, thermostat, on/off switch if it has one, even just a simple indicator lamp or its holder.
The best solution is to take 999 Baht of your ill gotten gains down to Macro and buy a "Turbo Oven". Best roast chicken you will ever cook, uses less power, easy to clean and if it is a hot day put the thing outside while it is cooking.
