Re: Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2015

Post by Sabai Sabai »

I'm on holiday on a beach down south using my phone and I'm struggling to post links, however, the list of names of players we've brought included where they came from, our one came from sisaket, not Ratchaburi. I've found a couple of clips using Thai language but if you type Sisaket 7-2 into YouTube you'll see him, he's the big (black) number 27. Despite his team scoring 7, he didn't score any of them!

I read an article that was published after that game, apparently the fans were still chanting his name because he was setting others up. He started off as an academy player from a top team in Nigeria, came to Thailand 3 years ago, had a spell at Saraburi before moving to Sisaket....

I've a feeling the white guy in the picture hasn't yet signed, because as you say, the rest of the names sound Thai....

OK, I can't argue, I'm only going by the Google Translate translation;
17 Jimmy Solar move from Ratchaburi United.
Your missing link is

Neither of those teams did very well in last year's Div 2 North Eastern Division, finishing 2nd and 4th from bottom.

Must be an error in the translation, it definitely says Sisaket.

I'm curious about the white guy now though, one picture looked like he'd been playing in China, or maybe Japan?

Thinking back to the pre-season training photos, I didn't see any black (African) players.

That's a JEF United shirt - sponsored by JR East / JR Higashi-nihon (JR東日本) railways and Furukawa Electric (古河電工).

Well done Frank, this is as hard as the car quiz :D

The shirt badge matches, but JEF Utd play in blue or yellow. So I have to conclude its a goalkeeper's shirt. I've checked out the goal keepers, and all 3 have very Japanese names. Their goalies tend to wear green :?

Strangely Shota is Japanese as well. After my ranking of Shota as a Scottish Goalie at the start of last season, he went on to become an excellent shot stopper, and won us quite a few points. I wouldn't like to see him relegated to 2nd place.

I don't think it's a recent picture.

JEF Utd are now sponsored by Fuji Electric (even though they retain the name JEF).

I see Samuel Lamptey has now agreed to go to Customs United... Strange one that, sideways, if not backwards step. Can only assume the club are wanting to make room for more foreigners coming in.

I think he saw the writing on the wall - Stephens too. Such a shame because they are fantastic defenders, and will be hard to replace,

I've had Mrs BB translating the contents of this link to me (I'm still none the wiser :? ).
http://www.supersubthailand.com/news/4419-10/index.html

I think the main features of the post are (but I can't swear to it - maybe one of you clever guys can confirm or maybe correct it):

1. The Buriram squad will be at Fort Thanarat tomorrow watching the Shanghai game.

2. Hua Hin have another friendly on 22 Jan 15 at home to Chonburi FC (Thai Premier League)

3. Hua Hin have another friendly on 29 Jan 15 at home to Lampang FC (Regional League Division 2 Northern Region)

Admission to all friendly games will be free, so the club that gives so much, keeps on giving.
