Well, they're certainly increasing their influence (or should I say affluence) in the region.....

"Chinese tourists boost Thai economy but stir outrage"

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Good article... my favorite parts.

"Chinese tourists do not create problems for us. They are nice tourists," said Srisuda Wanapinyosak, an executive director at the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

"But sometimes there might be cultural misunderstandings as we have different cultures,"

Talk about sugar coating a situation just because of the job you are in!!! They are disgusting and have no manners. That's the real answer...

A pile of cr@p it is indeed - I've witnessed the same on several occasions unfortunately on domestic Chinese flights... thankfully not long-haul international! On domestic flights idiots fighting, tw@ts opening the emergency exits to sit on the wing and have a smoke (whilst on the tarmac!!) are also not uncommon. Low IQ as well as complete arrogance galore - I shan't be returning anytime soon if I can help it.

Mainline Chinese tourists are a major problem (as well as blessing) in Hong Kong. One common tactic used by hotels is to have Chinese only floors. It stops them drivijg away other custom and they furnish those rooms with cheap furniture etc as theft and breakages ore so high.

^ sounds about right! :banghead: I've spent many a time in Chinese hotels and the noise, smoking and general lack of decency from the vast percentage of the Chinese guests is quite incredible at times.

A friend of mine who was based in China at the same time as me sent several Chinese contractors to the UK for a 2-3 month project....... kicked out of 4 sets of digs before the job was completed and they returned back to China.

I like the way that stereotyping people due to race is fine, but stereotyping people of a different sexual persuasion is a definate no-no.

Well, as I've mentioned - I'm guilty as hell for tarring those with the same brush...... however, give me your address and I'll send the LHG around with a rusty spoon......

Touche my friend, touche!

I would not say I was stereotyping by race, of the 3 races that exist today Chinese fall into the same race as both Japanese and Koreans who I consider EXTREMELY polite, well mannered and thoughtful people. I enjoy being around them.

• Caucasian races (Aryans, Hamites, Semites)
• Mongolian races (northern Mongolian, Chinese and Indo-Chinese, Japanese and Korean, Tibetan, Malayan, Polynesian, Maori, Micronesian, Eskimo, American Indian),
• Negroid races (African, Hottentots, Melanesians/Papua, “Negrito”, Australian Aborigine, Dravidians, Sinhalese)

At least in Thailand they've got some chance of knowing what they're being greedy about, I stay in hotels here with work in Europe and the Chinese bus tours demolish breakfast buffets, like in the article above but they've often got no idea what they're loading on to their plates, I saw one woman with scrambled egg and bacon piled up on top of Madeira sponge cake which must be an interesting taste.
The ironic thing is, they often then pull instant noodle pots out of their bags and ask for some boiling water.

The Chinese are difficult to deal with full stop/period...on all levels, from tourists to those in government and all inbetween.

I have had to deal with Chinese exchange students where I work and I couldn't think of a bunch of folks more different than the Thais....in so many ways.

I guess they are not taught about anything international as they grow up (other than how bad the Japs and US are)....just brainwashed by their system to think how wonderful their country is and all....bla bla bla bla etc (usually commie propaganda rubbish).
