I posted this request on another forum and as I am still looking for information I repeat it here in the hope that someone on this forum is able to help.
Can anybody tell me anything about Beung Kan in Nong Khai province.
I have used the same spelling that my Lonely Planet guide to Thailand uses. My Lonely Planet is a few years old now and it does not particularly enthuse about Beung Kan.
It is described as "a small dusty town on the Mekhong River, 185km east of Nong Khai". It sounds like a place to break a journey overnight if you travel from Nong Khai to Nakhon Phanom following the N.East border. Something that my wife and I have talked about doing on our next trip to LOS.
Are there any half decent places to stay - hotels or guest houses; and are there places where I could get some western food to eat and a beer or two? My wife is Thai so will be in her element with the local food.
Thanks.
North East - Beung Kan
North East - Beung Kan

Re: North East - Beung Kan
Look at below link. Also, do a google as there seems to be many more stories/articles. PeteTrotter wrote:I posted this request on another forum and as I am still looking for information I repeat it here in the hope that someone on this forum is able to help.
