Confused, rather than suffering.

Suffering is on your first away game outside of London, seeing Chelsea beaten 7-1. Suffering is having started to support my team in the mid sixties, going with my Dad and all the success that came until about 73, when seeing my team lose at Wembley to Stoke, then relegation after relegation, the club nearly going broke, seeing them lose at Luton, Oxford, Leyton Orient and so on and only just avoiding relegation to the old Div. 3 at Bolton, before the slow haul back and going to top grounds again with anticipation.

A blip this season is manageable, considering the sustained success we have had since the mid-nineties. I'll take that over what most other teams have managed in the same period.

Another great result - I'm pinching myself here...............

I've always bemoaned the ability of Spurs to build reasonable GD. Seems they've woken up. 8)

Bring on the Chelsk next week - could well be worth watching.

The Spurs v Chelsea clash is on at a good time on Sunday at 7pm Thai time.
Nice to see Chelsea grab a narrow win over fellow strugglers,Norwich,to put a bit of distance between them and the relegation places. :D
And next Saturday sees the top 2 clash between leaders Leicester  and Manchester United ! But its the late kick off over here at half past midnight. :(
When Ranieri was appointed Leicester manager I thought they were certs to go down this season.....just shows what I know !

This thread has certainly gone into decline this year, in previous years Liverpools near thrashing of City and Arsenals humbling by WBA would have brought a couple of pages of comments on their own, not to mention Spurs emphatic victory over the 'Ammers. As for next week Terry, Spurs must have their best chance in a few seasons to get one over the boys from Stamford Bridge. Oh and three cheers for James Vardy and his team mates - who would have guessed that Leicester would be topping the table at the end of November?

Considering how well Ranieri did at Chelsea in largely difficult circumstances, I'm surprised that anyone's surprised with what's happening at Leicester. It's worth remembering that he bought many of the players that became mainstay's for nearly a decade, including Lamps, Makaele, Cech and Gallas and Terry's career at Chelsea really kicked off under Ranieri.

Getting up to date, I was pretty pleased with Chelseas performance on Saturday and we're slowly grinding back into some sort of form. Hazard, Fabregas and Matic, who got stronger as the game went on, all put in good shifts. Costa, however, really needs to do more although he scored a great goal. I still worry about no plan B, although what was pleasing on Saturday was that we created more chances and had more shots than we have done for some time. Not convinced about our new left back though!

As for the Arse? Well it's never a shock when they get turned over by Tony Pulis, it's almost expected, although I went for the draw. City were pathetic, as ever without Kompany and the managers selections didn't help. Jury's still out on Liverpool as far as I'm concerned.

The Spuds are looking good. I watched the game against the 'Ammers and they were worthy winners and seem strong all over the pitch. Chelsea will have a tough game next week, especially after a midweek excursion to Israel.

Ranieri....The Tinkerman.....I liked him at Chelsea and he did bring some good players to the club.
But since then he's been to around half a dozen or so clubs in Europe with mixed success.
His last position was as the manager of the Greek national side who failed to win a game under him in Euro 2016 qualifying. His last match was a home defeat to the mighty Faroe Islands  and then he got the chop.
Plus he's 64 and 12 years out of English football is a long time as the game has moved on.
Thats why I thought he and Leicester would struggle. But glad to be proved wrong and I wish them every success, just as long as they lose on Saturday ! :rasta:

I think part of the decline is due to Baa Baa no longer contributing with his myopic views on Liverpool`s greatness.
As for the weekend, disappointed with Arsenal v WBA, Man U were so boring and lacking in basic skills I fount it more interesting to go and wash the dishes. Spurs looked to be in good form :cuss: Still early days though

Spurs are the best team in the league right now. I predict that we'll lose our first game (this season) to Chelsea next week but will go on to win the league.

If you do lose to the chelsk this week, it will be your fourth defeat of the season.

Man Utd away 1-0 (PL)
Anderlecht away 2-1 (europa league)
Arsenal home 1-2 (carling cup)

As for winning the league, well, you're playing well so far this season and the title race looks pretty wide open at present.
It's a possibility, though a small one imo. :|

The Spuds 0 Chelski 0
A bit of a disappointing game,I thought, but it was pulsating compared to the recent Manchester derby !
A draw was a fair result but I thought Spurs gave Chelsea too much room to play instead of pressing them hard from the kick off.
Alderweireld was Spurs best player and Oscar the best Chelsea man on view but others opinions may differ !
caller will be happier than the legions of Spurs fans on the forum and may well be thinking in terms of removing his dark glasses and false beard, when he goes out in public, after Chelseas improved performance, :rasta:

Yeah, the 2nd half was poor, but I enjoyed the first half. It was fairly comfortable for both teams really and much was made of the spuds midweek schedule before the game, but Chelsea weren't far off that in going to Israel. It's also worth remembering that most of the players on the park had travelled for international duty the week before, so quite a few weary legs out there and it showed.

It was good to keep another clean sheet and to see that Hazard is now pretty much back to his best. I thought Fabregas and Matic were after last week, but Fabrgas' distribution today was very poor and Matic just did okay. I'd still like to see Loftus-Cheek given an extended run, he's a real talent and if we have said goodbye to Costa, so be it!

Certainly some surprising results last night starting with Stokes comfortable 2-0 win over Manchester City.
Leicester are continuing to play some great stuff, and are deservedly top, but I think Gary Monk, the Swansea boss, could well be for the chop this week.
Surely the biggest surprise, despite their shocking start to the season, has to be Chelseas 1-0 loss at home to Bournemouth who are the smallest club in the EPL and whose squad has been decimated by injury. But a great result for the neutral and it would be fantastic if Bournemouth defied the odds and stayed up.
No surprise at the 0-0 scoreline at Old Trafford......thats 5 in the last 9 matches for United now. :( Probably another 0-0 at Wolfsburg in midweek as we depart the Champions League.
A win for Arsenal and a draw for Spurs, both not bad results but not great either.
But I've still got my Banker to come on IKTS......I've gone for Newcastle 0 Liverpool 5......so we can expect Newcastle to climb out of the bottom 3 if my previous Banker predictions are anything to go by !
