LG TV external sound system
LG TV external sound system
I purchased a LG TV just over a year ago from PowerBuy.The speaker in the back of the tv has gone down.PowerBuy said only 1 year warranty, but when I complained they said they would fix for free but need to send to bkk for 1 month.
When there is any background music or crowd noise at sport it is a loud boom boom distorting people talking.
I was wondering if I purchased a sound surround system does it cancel out the speaker at the back of the tv ?
Regards in advance for any info

Re: LG TV
Personally, I'd recommend a sound bar - far easier installation (also with older model tv's) and a much improved sound to the standard tv speaker. The tv speaker is not cancelled as such - you just need to mute it!

^ Very much welcome, and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of the "Sound Bar System" as I have had - great effects for sport and cinema....

What sort of price are we looking at or is there a big range from top to bottom spec?pharvey wrote:^ Very much welcome, and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of the "Sound Bar System" as I have had - great effects for sport and cinema....

Re: LG TV
I guess the simple answer is that with most other things, "You get what you pay for..." - they're not what you would call cheap, but IMHO far cheaper and better value than the "surround sound systems". I have a Samsung unit which I bought as an "Instore Ex-demonstrator" for around £250 in the UK, which is fairly high-end and would normally sell at around the £400 mark. I'm sure you'll get them cheaper, but you need to do some research.Dannie Boy wrote:What sort of price are we looking at or is there a big range from top to bottom spec?pharvey wrote:^ Very much welcome, and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of the "Sound Bar System" as I have had - great effects for sport and cinema....
If you're anything like me - love for movies/live sport etc. - they are well worth the money.

Re: LG TV
You can get some high end sound bars from companies like Yamaha but I paid about 12,000 bt for an LG one with a separate sub woofer which is pretty good and perfectly adequate for most needs. I think they start at about 5,000bt for a basic one and over ten times that for the very best.Dannie Boy wrote:What sort of price are we looking at or is there a big range from top to bottom spec?pharvey wrote:^ Very much welcome, and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of the "Sound Bar System" as I have had - great effects for sport and cinema....

Re: LG TV
Certainly need to go for one with the separate sub woofer - preferably wi-fi (which is common to most units and smart tv's).STEVE G wrote:You can get some high end sound bars from companies like Yamaha but I paid about 12,000 bt for an LG one with a separate sub woofer which is pretty good and perfectly adequate for most needs. Yesterday I had a shop around. Saw a LG soundbar and separate Woofer and WiFi. Got the guy at Homepro to show me it working. Sounded excellent. Was 7990B but I used Homepro card and was 7490B.
They delivered it today and installed it. Got to say excellent value, sound and quality.
