And so the story gets murkier and murkier. No wonder they didn't want anyone poking around. Everyone at the temple should be arrested and charged - with particularly harsh sentences for the ones at the top. :cuss:

30 more dead cubs found

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general ... cubs-found

As the relocation of Bengal tigers from the Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi continues, wildlife authorities on Thursday discovered the carcasses of 30 more tiger cubs, two tiger pelts and a large number of talismans made from tiger carcasses. ......................................more

The new carcasses were preserved in huge glass jars seized during searches conducted in the living quarters of temple abbot Phra Sutthi Sarathera, alias Luang Ta Chan, and of the temple's workers, police said.
..........................................................

It will never happen, but after all the tigers are removed the army should be sent in with bulldozers, starting at the main road gate, push the lot into a big heap and burn it. :guns:

A quote I heard from a young thai lady many years ago was "thai people are only bhuddists on the outside".. after years living here and hearing stories like this and other spiritually bankrupt occurrences, I now believe her....very sad

I wonder if any of this will have any effect on Thai Buddhism. It comes hard on the heels of the monk who flew everywhere in his private jet, together with the scandal of the monk in charge of the flying saucer lookalike temple in Bangkok (which I raised my suspicions over on here about 7 years ago) - surely the nation will suddenly realise that they're being conned.

'Superhuman' claim dogs abbot

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general ... dogs-abbot

Ruling monks have been petitioned to probe Wat Dhammakaya abbot Phra Dhammajayo to determine whether he breached Buddhist doctrine by claiming he is superhuman. ......................... long article>

This place is more of a sect, than a temple. But like the Tiger Temple, it will only exist while people support it.

Careful about dead cubs. Seems that a certain number dies naturally after some days.

You know human nature though in that people (mainly outside Asia IMO) will tend to tar all monks because of these scandals, the same that is happening to muslims. The majority of both remain good people. Anyway, below is a news update on arrests:

It looks like they're going for the jugular on this one, and it appears the National Office of Buddhism is not objecting too strenuously. Not a bad idea to just make the place disappear completely. Pete
