Video highlights of last Saturday's match made by one of the Thai supporters using his phone fastened to a selfie stick with sticky tape and elastic hair bands. Match of the Day it isn't, but under the circumstances it is good.

Vana Nava Hua Hin City 1 - 1 Thonburi City

Definitely 2 points lost because Thonburi City were not a good side. Hua Hin had more than their share of possession/chances, but with a centre forward whose signature shot is an 'airshot', we just don't convert those chances.

Of course, every Div 2 game in Thailand is about the ref - there was a prize dick in charge again today. Both sides had legitimate penalty claims in the first half with Yongsak hauled to the ground and a blatant handball by the Hua Hin defence. He didn't see either incident. It got worse from there - the guy was a joke.

I don't remember Thonburi having a shot until the 1st minute of added time, and Shota was up to the job, finger tipping it onto the crossbar.

I am having serious doubts about the general fitness status of Hua Hin players. We seem to be very thin on the ground in several areas. Last week we had to substitute a defender for a forward, who had to play in defence. This week, when a goal down, we replaced our centre-forward with a defender, who played in defence; and then we substituted a defender for a forward, who also played in defence. OK, the tactic worked - we equalised. However, I think the opposition were as confused as the supporters. We has a well tested forward on the bench, who we all know knows where the net is. I can only assume he not fully fit yet.

I guess we have to take some consolation that we are over 25% of the way through the season, and we're still the only unbeaten team in the league.

Away to Assumption next Sunday at the SCG Stadium with a 19:00 KO against Assumption Utd.

Organised travel to SCG Stadium to watch Hua Hin City play Assumption Utd is being arranged by one of the Supporters Associations. The (mini?) bus will be leaving Hua Hin at 12:00hrs on 22 May.

If interested, please leave a message here, and I will put you in touch.

Personally, I have to make my own way to this match, so will not be on the bus.

Assumption Utd 2 - 1 Vana Nava Hua Hin City

Apologies for the late report this week, but I'm on the road and haven't had an opportunity to post. Currently got a couple of hours to kill whilst waiting for my next flight.

Well, the unbeaten record has certainly gone. Why? I think we're basically playing a team of reserves, which includes several school kids. I think we must have significant injury problems, coupled with the new 4 yellow cards and you're suspended rule starting to kick in. If referees were any use, then the new rule would be OK, but the refs are incompetent, and often award yellow card penalties without due cause - often because they've been conned.

Assumption only had one player of note, who skinned the usually reliable Jenrop a couple of times. Hua Hin were definitely not beaten by a better side, and if Hua Hin actually had a striker, the result could have been so different.

As well as fielding a weakened side, it was made even weaker because Camara was also dropped. Theerawat just did not have the same menacing presence up front. I'm not a fan of Camara, but was pleased when he made an appearance after the break.

It was far from a bad performance by Hua Hin against a team battling for a promotion place. I believe this is only a temporary set back.

A true test will come on Saturday when we take on Krung Thonburi at Takiab Stadium, KO 17:30.

Vana Nava Hua Hin City 1 - 2 Krung Thonburi

No report this week - this was the first home match I've missed in 4 years.

When the club folded a few weeks ago, I booked a holiday, thinking there was no football to clash with dates - I arrived back in Hua Hin too late to get to the game.

Onwards and upwards (we can't stoop much lower at the moment). Next game is home to Chumphon this coming Wednesday 1 June, KO 17:30.

It's only a week to the next away game at Samut Sakorn. I am quite happy to drive the short distance, but would prefer to go on a supporters (mini?) bus. Who is interested?

If we get enough interest, maybe we can share a bus with a Thai supporters association again? It worked well last time.

Or does anybody know of any other group transport going to the match?

Vana Nava Hua Hin City 1 - 0 Chumphon FC

Chumphon visited us tonight, riding high at the top of the current form table, while Hua Hin had lost their last 2 games. This was going to be tough.

Hua Hin are still fielding a makeshift side, still being hit by injuries. Jenrop being the latest casualty after being injured last Saturday.

The first half was fairly even, although Shota was being called into action a lot more than the Chumphon keeper. The Chumphon keeper did look very shaky in everything he did. Fortunately Shota was back to his very best today.

A penalty converted by Wongsawad after Arnon was brought down inside to box was the difference at half time.

Chumphon came out in the second half with a lot more determination, and put the Hua Hin goal under pressure for long periods. Of particular note was a world class double save by Shota, which also included a goal mouth clearance - one of the best I've seen. Shota was a true hero today. Hua Hin had a few chances themselves, and were very unlucky not to score past a below form Chumphon keeper.

The heavens opened in the last 20 minutes, and quite a few supporters just melted away in the terrible conditions. I've never seen such an exodus when a team is winning. Even the snobs in Section E found the cover inadequate, and their cocktails and cucumber sandwiches were getting damp.

A great result today - a real nail biting 2nd half.

Next match is this coming Sunday at Samut Sakhon - another big test.

Here's the updated Gameweek 9 table. We're now at the bottom of the leading pack, as opposed to leading the pack of relegation contenders.

Yes, a 3rd Division is being formed next year. The bottom team in each of the regional 2nd Divisions will be relegated at the end of this season. It is rumoured that there will be a couple of Hua Hin teams applying for the new league.

OK, we've got a mini-bus going to Samut Sakhon this coming Sunday, so it'll simply mean splitting the cost between passengers. We still have 4 empty seats if anybody is interested.

Hi there.

I am currently on holiday in Hua Hin. I've made it to the last couple of home games and would like to go to the game on Sunday as well. I would be happy to take a seat on the bus if there's still a seat available?

Any info regarding where and when the bus departs along with info regarding price would be very much appreciated. Cheers! :-)

Hi Kowalski,

Yes, we still have seats. The bus will leave from Hua Hin Wittayacomp School, which is on the road between Soi 88 and 94 at 1pm. Where are you? If you're not local, I doubt you'll have much clue where that is. I could maybe collect you.

[Edit} The bus is costing 2,800 Baht, and that will be divided by number of passengers. We currently have 6 passengers with you, so that would be 500 Baht each (including a 200 baht tip for the driver).

Sorry for the delay in responding. I had a quick look earlier and was unable to find the school. I am staying at the Baan manthana hotel (it is next to the night market ). The offer of a pick up is very kind. Alternatively I could walk there if it isn't too far of the beaten track, I'll just need some directions please.

Thanks again for any help in relation to this matter. Must admit I'm looking forward to my first away day with Hua Hin FC!
