Just been another explosion near the clock tower. At least one person injured. There had been an alms giving ceremony in that area earlier.

Shocking news. A tragedy for the lady who died and her family and those injured as a consequence. I hope they all make a full recovery. Hope everyone here is safe.

Many reports on Facbbok with photos.

More bombs in Hua Hin, elsewhere

At least two bombs have exploded in Hua Hin this morning to add to the two bombs last night in which one was killed and 19 injured. There are reports of bombings in other provinces as well.

Thai Rath TV reported live from an area near the clock tower in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, where two bombs exploded around 8am. At least four people have been injured, one critically. A warning has just been issued that another bomb has been discovered on a parked motorcycle.

Reports are also coming in of two bombings in Phuket and a bombing outside a police station in Surat Thani which killed one and injured three. A second bomb then went off about 300 metres from the first.

Yesterday at least five people were injured in a bomb explosion in Muang district of Trang.

In addition, there have been serious fires in Trang, and Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Here is our early morning story on last night's Hua Hin bombings.

"Thailand hit by another bomb attack, says governor

AT least four people have been killed in eight bomb blasts across Thailand in the past 24 hours.

One blast hit southern Trang first, followed by four blasts in the resort town of Hua Hin then two blasts hit the tourist island of Phuket and one in the island gateway town of Surat Thani.

The bombs in Hua Hin killed one woman and wounded about 19 people, including tourists.

The bombs were hidden in planters on a busy street with open-fronted bars and detonated by mobile phones, according to the BBC’s Jonathan Head.

The first bomb went off about 10pm Thursday (1am Friday AEST), local deputy police chief Samer Yousamran said. About 20 minutes later, the second bomb exploded at a bar about 50 metres away, killing a Thai food vendor.

Bangkok Post reports the “double-tap” bomb explosions went off at Soi Bintabat, near the Fah Pah intersection."

It is not clear if Australians were among the injured. News Corp Australia has contacted the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for comment.

Thai TV channels reporting similar attacks confirming the above post - in Trang, Phuket and Suratthani - similar devices, same detonation method. This is coordinated.

If they don't do a controlled explosion, that might give them some evidence which may be useful in catching the scum.

Couldn't sleep and got up and put BBC news on half an hour ago. All info above has been confirmed, with probably 4 deaths all together. Pictures live from HH are frightening and I'm actually sitting here shaking. As Buksi says it all seems to have been co-ordinated. This is unprecedented in HH.
