Builders supply store

Post by AJBangkok »

Hi All,

Someone mentioned to me that a new builders supply store opened on Petchkasem road that specialized or has expertise in gypsum fiber board for ceilings or may have their own team to install it. Does anyone know where this is. I have driven around the northern part of Petchkasem but haven't been able to locate it

Not new anymore but the Thai Watsanadu Store has hectares of almost anything you can even dream about in way of building supplies and tons of any imaginable construction stuff, including gypsum board, steel, etc., in a huge back room. You almost need a motorbike or roller skates to get around inside that place.

There is a service desk in the picking-up driveway in the back room. Maybe they know somthing.

Its almost ½ way to Cha Am, on left (west) side. GPS: N 12˚43.712’ E 099˚57.350’

Most builders merchants will either stock or be able to order. They will also know teams that can fit.

Thank you very much for the replies. I'm fairly sure it is not Thai Watsadu but I will take a look there anyway. The gypsum should be relatively easy to source but getting the experienced team to install it is not that easy. I was hoping that this "new" place could supply both.

Maybe Global House? At the beginning of Pranburi on Petchkasem road

Thanks Hinway that sounds like the place I am looking for. When you say the price is the same as others, do you know how much per square meter it works out to installed? Is it between 200 - 300 baht per SM not including painting ?

Thanks Hinway, the store was exactly where you said it was and I visited it this morning. Price was 250 baht per M2 for 9mm board all in. Quite an impressive set up for a small store. No nonsense, what do you want, here's the price. I also asked for the cost of 12mm board and she said no one uses that here, I'll find out and call you. An hour later she called and gave the wife a price but said they'd have to order the board.

The store was very busy with trucks and pickups rolling up and a few guys from the store loading big piles of gypsum board.

Thanks again for the info

Cheers

They do have foil backed gypsum board here. It is worth the bit extra, especially if you have a double storey house.

I did not ask but It's not necessary for me as I just got the roof spray foamed. I used a local Hua Hin company and I'm very happy with the result.
