Squealing Pig
Is that the restaurant's name or a pet name?

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
Maybe he means S&P. I think there used to be 2 of them downtown, one in the old Hua Hin Shopping Mall building and another on the opposite side of Phetkasem a bit further north.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

NO, the Sqealing Pig is on Soi 102, next door to Bobby's
Re: Squealing pig
The Thai owner has lost the bar to debt. A new investor or business partner could save it and there is some possible interest but nothing firm. Jack is making all necessary plans to return home this week.oakdale160 wrote:One of my favorite b'fast places, the SP seems to be closed down. any info? is it permanent?

Played The Squealing Pig at pool last night and Jack never mentioned anything untoward. Steve died last week so maybe the closure was in respect.

^ Hardly
Cat (of Car Bar fame) is who actually owns the property and has put new locks on the doors and shut the place down. Mana owes everyone in town and Jack (his real name is John) is getting out of the country while he still can on a voluntary basis.

Ignore my post. Seems there's some truth in what's being said.HHTel wrote:Played The Squealing Pig at pool last night and Jack never mentioned anything untoward. Steve died last week so maybe the closure was in respect.

It was always tense at the SP.Jack bought it in Mana's name, then they split as a couple but continued to operate the SP together. But there was always bad relationship between them. He worked very hard at meeting and greeting but the place never got really busy like so many places.

Nice breakfast and Jack was always up for a chat, also nice bar staff. Shame that the bar scene always seems to be full of drama.

^ Drama is putting it mildly! It was pretty much a den of criminal activities.
