My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Lets be honest, the food sucks here, that's why there's so many Brits here, they're used to it - you would never see the french here. I have wet dreams about deli pastrami or roast beef sandwiches and some dill pickles. LOL

The French make an art out drinking water, and yes, they can sure as hell make a dinner plate look pretty, but that's where it ends.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact

and I have been saying that for years.
Thailand focuses too heavily on growing rice and they have to import almost everything else. I still don't understand why Thai people don't care about Food Quality and Safety. Food Quality and Safety should always be of the utmost importance.
Thailand has even tried to buy weapons for its military not with money but with rice. It's just silly, Thailand is a Banana Republic.
I only eat potatoes maybe twice a week max and usually have no problem at Makro or the day market. Prefer some russets or desiree which you can get at villa sometimes if you are prepared to pay the price which varies wildly through the year. If you know how to use a rice cooker and which rice to buy then it is perfect.
I'm amazed at the litany of complaints (I have a few, but potatoes?) about Thailand. why would anyone want to live in a country where they despise so many things?
Back to the potato 'crisis' here it seems that 95+% are wet potatotoes whereas the flowery variety are rarely obtainable - perhaps this is why the Irish are so few in numbers here?
Well I got potatoes from the 'day market' today and they were as usual - washed and large (not quite as big as the Idaho potato but not far off!) Price was 50 bt per kilo which is a little more than usual.

The French also eat more big Macs per capita than any country other than the US, so it's not all haute cuisine!
