Didn't a gold rush result after the last serious flooding? Or am I thinking of the wrong place?

If the choice was between risking the dam failing or flooding the river valley, then he was a bright spark. If not, T.I.T.buksida wrote:After three days of solid torrential down pour some bright spark decides to open the dam - this was the result.

No, he wasn't. The bright thing to have done would be release the water gradually over a period of days after studying weather and tide reports and anticipating heavy rains. Not flooding two towns, a major hospital, many schools and countless homes.Homer wrote: If the choice was between risking the dam failing or flooding the river valley, then he was a bright spark.
