I'm not sure what the idea is with those "Volunteer Police" vests. I've certainly never seen them be of any assistance to anyone or liaise with the police in any way or form.
A few of them live near me, & ,quite honestly, those particular guys I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw. If you have a problem, stick to the official MIB, IMHO.

Hello Everybody,
Finally got around to registering on this excellent forum, hope that I can contribute something from time to time.

I have been in Thailand just on 20 years, albeit working rotation in the oilfield. Have recently been forced into retirement and am now able to hopefully have some "normal" life.

We, (my step daughter and her baby) have bought a house and she hopes to get some small business going, along with her "husband".
For myself, I lost my Thai wife 8 years ago and maybe now can close off that part of my life and start again.

Happy New Year to all.

hello everyone. I am bunthom, and this is my first post to the board. My wife and built a house in Hua Hin last year and we live here almost full time.

Really looking forward to plugging into the wealth of information on the board and sharing some of the things we have learned living here.

Hi

Post by niall »

Hey guys.

Names Niall. Been around the world a bit including Thailand.

Have in the past been a Pattaya devote but its just getting a little too nasty these days or I'm getting old.

Anyway planning a maiden trip to Hua Hin in March 2007 so will be asking all the usual dumb questions like reliable taxi service, high quality but guest friendly no hassle hotel and that sort of thing.

Be gentle with me.
