NOT AGAIN - THIS IS JUST TOO REGULAR

Post by JW »

It is with the deepest regret that i have to inform of another motorcycle accident.
A dear friend was involved in a very serious accident last night, he is in a very grave condition and has a very small chance of survival.

Randy posted a while ago to PUT ON YOUR HELMETS - for fxxx sake please do so as this may have saved my friend.

Its getting to be silly, we shpould no better and we can afford a proper helmet.

Soul Monsta could you re post your visually shocking thread from last year as i am really pissed off at this latest one and action needs to be taken.

Hoping for a miracle.

Couldn't agree more. I won't ride without one, and others should do the same. Car vs Your Head. What's going to win?

I shake my head in dismay so many times at seeing foreigners riding motorbikes without helmets I fear my head may come off at any moment!
I feel like stopping them and saying - "Look if you put on your helmet I'll give you the price of a beer" Maby we could start a 'Heineken for a Helmet' campaign in an effort to make people aware. You see them without a helmet on, explain how dangerous it is, get them to put it on and then give them a free beer ticket (which you have kindly paid for in advance) The agreed bar won't do badly out of it....ha ha ha.

From the information i have my friend needs a miracle. I feel angry and sad tonight that a really nice guy is likely to lose his life, probably not due to his own driving. A tuk tuk was involved in the accident - these fxxxxxx should be banned as they are always pissed after around 11pm. (No dig at TTM his are in the Uk) Use taxis not Tuk Tuks.
July saw a great mate killed in a road accident, he was a friend to many on the board.
Sometimes i really hate Thailand.

Yes, big jimmy, as the first comment was directed to me, I'm assuming this one is too. I'll agree I'm stupid to occasionally use motorbike taxis without a helmet, but I'm wondering about your intelligence when you continue to harp on about the cost aspect when I specifically told you the reason I use public transport is because I can't drive. Nothing to do with money! Again, on 2 separate threads I have asked if anyone has any suggestions other than carrying 2 crash helmets everywhere I go outside of my house all the time (no bike, nowhere to leave them!) and I've never had an answer.
So, OK, I guess it has to be taxis all the time. Then it does get financial, as it will be 12,000 bt a month just to get to & from a job that doesn't pay me, never mind anywhere else I want to go. Well, so be it.

JW, I'm terribly sorry about your friend. What a dreadful thing to happen. Praying for a miracle...

My condolences JW i dont know who he/she is but i have probably met them at some stage very sad
I couldnt agree more with just about everything said but unless the MIB enforce things other than in their designated areas at their designated times i fear buggerall will happen
Saying that though we as the so called educated falangs should lead by example sadly that is not always the case and i for the 500yard short run am guilty some times i shall endeavour not to do that in the future

Praying for your friend to recover

Don,t just endeavor just fooking do it if not for your self but for the family and friends who will be left behind to deal with the grief and upset of arranging the funeral for a loved one

HELLO!!!!!!! WAKE UP !!! ARE you lot a little more educated or not

JW that post you mentioned in the other thread has been linked to newer threads over and over again still every day i see people who use the board riding without a crash helmet and with their kids also without helmets ,, you all should be so ashamed of your selfs

Dr Dave i think i admitted my faults and i think i said i will endeavour to change and wear my crash hat even for the 150 yard run to the shop

But it is the logic of the reasoning to wear a crash hat for the short hop on hop of trips that makes me think about it sensibly
The first step is for the individual to accept that his behaviour is dangerous to himself and his family before he/she will change attitude shouting may help some but it is the sound solid logic that should proove more persuasive
you are after all shouting at the converted in umwah

Searge I’m bye no way lecturing you, however having had motorbikes all my days its the pop down the shop, nip back from the pub, quick shot of someone’s else’s bike scenarios that are the times when accidents happen.

When I stayed in UK me and my mates used to go from Scotland to Europe on the bikes all the time and never any one crashed but have lost 2 mates to bikes over the years and one guy was just popping down the shop to get breakfast roll’s on a Sunday morning (no helmet) while the other guy who died was trying another mates bike after about 6 beers and he was only on it 5 mins before hitting a milk float which lead to min being decapitated .

Guys please buy proper helmets, and please use them.

I posted details on decent helmets that can be worn in Asia very comfortable with be proper open face one, I’m, sure if you search for the make on the net someone in Thailand will sell them

qoute from old post mentioning good makes of crash helmets and rough price

Having had bikes most of my days I can only 100% agree with what’s been said, I also have to add these things that some of the moped driver wear wont do you much good either, “ARAIâ€
