hi Pete lots of bmw lots of lady drivers with large suv

price here is astronomical audi q7 90,000 euro

bmw relevant prices too but the women here all want a big suv thinghy now

no wonder i want to get out
even alpha romeo 36k

basic box with 4 wheels toyota yaris 12 k up

feel there living on the past celtic tiger lots of buisness here closeing down they cant compete anymore

with asia or east europe p+g have cosed a factory here opening in Poland instead

I can't picture a 'celtic tiger' but I'll look it up and probably recognize it?

It's interesting as the BBC or CNN had a special report on here a few months ago about all the Polish workers coming to work in Ireland and the language problems they were having. Now it seems Irish businesses are opening factories in Poland?

as i see it the ship will at some stage start sinking here

everything is vastly over priced

ie

visit to doctor 45 euro

pahrmacy augmenten 575 mg 14 tabs 20 euro plus pharmacy fee
cup of coffee 2 euro to frothy one near 3 euro

house ins 1000 euro

electricty 2 mths 229 euro

gas 2 mths 300 euro

car ins 800 average

car 20 k for second hand

school fees 11 yr old to walk in the gates 10,000 a year

out for a night 400 euro

Now here in farangland i bought my BMW330I , 4 year old and 60.000 Km on the counter for only 17.000 euro. But moving to Thailand soon I will buy a Fortuna. Best value for money at precent....

You are exactly right.

And because of the high price, and exclusivity. those with cash MUST have one.

Mini Cooper S, in EU how much? Maybe around Euros 17-18K? (Not really sure, never been that interested in them), here how much? 2.7 Milion Baht (Euros 56,000)!!!!!!!

For a small town car!!!!!!

Import Car prices are exceeding Singapore prices, once a place where cars were obscenely expensive. Now its here. OK locally produced is priced more reasonably, but even the locally assembled Merc and BMW command ridiculous prices, but they sell!

And many people buy them, simply because their friends can't afford one!!!

Fortuners in my opinion do drive like a pick up, very floaty. Nice if driven steadily but thats where they are good. Great value for money - but not a purpose built SUV chassis - like a CRV for instance. Great car but a touch expensive.

Buy a Chevy pick up and have everyone in Issan wanting to load their prize bulls on it becuse the big boys like to ride in style and take a dim view of prissy Fortunas. The dealers have used cars and trucks so that's a good place to start to look for a used veichle.

Haven't looked in HH, but in BKK almost al of the offical delaers DO NOT sell used cars, and many are not interested in P/Ex

This is true, when I was looking at purchasing new only one of the dealers made an effort to take the old shed. Honda, Toyota and Ford didn't want to know, only Mitsubishi did - so I got one of them!
