One of my challenges I've set myself this season is to get my head round learning how to code for Arduino, but having got so far, I realise that I need an actual Arduino Uno board attached to my PC to take it any further.
I scoured the top floor of Market Village today but without any joy - does anyone know of any electronic component shops in town?
Alternatively, I could attempt mail order, but have never done this before in Thailand. How reliable is mail order in the kingdom these days?

Re: Arduino
As know as much about Arduino as I know about golf - zilch.
Mail order in Thailand - excellent. We use it very regularly, and are very satisfied.

Do you address to a street address or a mailbox? - one never sees postmen here..Mail order in Thailand - excellent. We use it very regularly, and are very satisfied
Does the address need to be in Thai, or will English get through?
I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly...
Re: Arduino
I use my home address. However, while some things may arrive EMS, most companies use private couriers. One of the requirements will be your phone number, and they will call you before delivery. Firstly to ensure you are there to receive it, and secondly if you have an address like mine, to find out where it is. We have been elsewhere, and because of this phone call, they have brought it to where we were as opposed to our home address. Truly excellent service.

Re: Arduino
If my wife is around, and I see a strange phone number when the phone rings, I simply let her answer. If I'm home alone, I have to muddle through.
[Edit] Wherever possible, I use the C.O.D. option, which increases their desire to find me.

Re: Arduino
Mail, shipping service is excellent here.
As stated, Ph # mandatory, until they get to know you. Though even if prepaid, they do seem to call all the time.
Online shopping is excellent, inexpensive (if good at researching / shopping).
Not familiar with Arduino, though thought about learning also. Use to build quad and hexacopters, and Arduino was one of the computer sets used, though I never used / build. Did use a couple pre-built in a couple crafts, then simply plug and play (solder) and progrm.
Lazada should have, and in country vendors available, so faster delivery. Also 'priceza' for comparison shopping. Will list many vendors, same as LAZ, along with LAZ, local vendors (Shopee / Shop24 vendors) and other countries / vendors (China mainly), along with international 'vendors', who simply drop ship.
Banggood used to be my 'go to', but have since instituted a minimum purchase $40 USD for free shipping. So doubt if you'll be using them much, as what you're after, bits and bobs, and rather inexpensive. Unless buying quite a bit.
AliExpress is quite good.
GearBest, but stock and shipping is questionable at times, hit and miss.
Google is your friend. There's a huge Arduino place in Bangkok, if I think of it, I'll post.
I would stay clear of TomTop, and Geek'something, as had bad experiences with them. I hear HobbyKing is hit and miss also, though no experience myself.
Happy Building. Think I enjoyed building them, more than flying my toys. Buy a good soldering iron / gun.

Re: Arduino
I see you have pointers to good sources of Arduino hardware. I usually stock up when I'm in Bangkok and I hit the Ban Mo electronics neighbourhood near the Royal Palace.
When you decide you want to dip your toes into starting to work with the boards, let me know and we can get together and I can teach you the basics you'll need to get started. Ping me at mwbrown42@gmail.com
