Dead cow kicks abattoir worker in the face

https://au.news.yahoo.com/dead-cow-kick ... 42279.html

An abattoir worker suffered serious injuries when a dead cow kicked him in the face, police say.
The cow was “killed according to regulations” of the southern Germany abattoir early Thursday at an abattoir, police said in a statement.

While the bovine carcass was hanging from a meat hook for further processing it kicked the worker in the face, apparently due to a nerve impulse that experts say isn’t uncommon.

The 41-year-old worker suffered serious injuries during the incident and was hospitalised.

Plane forced to turn around after mum 'forgets baby at airport'

https://au.news.yahoo.com/plane-forced- ... 05074.html

There are not many situations that are going to make a plane do a U-turn and head back to the airport – but apparently forgetting your baby is one of them.

That was the situation for a Kuala Lumpur-bound flight, which turned back to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, when a frantic passenger told the crew that she had accidentally left her baby in the boarding area of the terminal, according to local publication the Gulf News.

A subsequent conversation between the Saudia Airlines pilot and air traffic control, which was uploaded to YouTube, has since gone viral.
“May God be with us. Can we come back or what?” the pilot can be heard saying over the radio.

“This flight is requesting to come back… a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing,” an ATC operative can be heard saying.

Struggling to believe the request, they asked the pilot to explain the scenario one more time for good measure.
“We told you, a passenger left her baby in the terminal and refuses to continue the flight,” the pilot replied.

Describing it as “a totally new one for us”, air traffic control granted the flight permission to return.

While the distressed mother was reunited with her child, there’s mixed reports as to how the baby was left behind in the first place.

Saudi Twitter user Fahad M. Al Barrak, who shared the original audio of the incident, said the baby had been left with its sister who boarded the wrong bus at the terminal.

When the mother realised the pair hadn’t made the flight, she insisted the plane turn round, Mr Al Barrak claimed.
Yahoo7 News has contacted Saudia for comment.

Crematorium goes up in flames, but bodies remain unharmed

https://au.news.yahoo.com/crematorium-g ... 51944.html

A fire at a crematorium in southern Germany has caused significant damage to the building – but the 20 bodies stored inside remained intact.

German news agency DPA reported Thursday that the cause of the overnight fire in Schwaebisch Hall, about 175 kilometers southeast of Frankfurt, was still being investigated.

DPA quoted regional police saying the bodies were largely unharmed by the blaze.
The fire is estimated to have caused about 1.5 million euros (AU$2.4 million) in damages.

'I thought it was fake': Giant fish found on South Australian beach

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thought-fake- ... 52064.html

A woman has shared an impressive find she came across on a South Australian beach.
Linette Grzelak was at the beach near Murray Mouth at Coorong recently when she and her partner came across an enormous sunfish.

Ms Grzelak shared a picture of the fish on Facebook on Monday.
“I thought it was fake,” she wrote.
She later clarified the fish was dead and people were astonished by its sheer size with the picture shared more than 1000 times.

“Wow, that was swimming out there? No wonder I don’t swim in the sea,” one woman wrote.
“Bet that would give you a good run,” one man added.

South Australian Museum fish collection manager Ralph Foster told the ABC the sunfish was a rare find and while he estimated it was 1.8 metres long he said “they can get a lot bigger”.
“It’s probably an average-sized one, they can get nearly twice as big as that,” Mr Foster told the ABC.
The fish can reach a length of 3.3 metres and can weigh up to 2.7 tonnes, according to Fishes of Australia’s website.

Also known as Mola mola, the fish pose no harm to humans despite their large size.

However, a four-year-old boy fishing off the west coast of Wales with his family in 2004 was knocked over by a 30kg sunfish after it landed on top of him, the BBC reported.
Luckily, little Byron Grey was fine and he and his family continued finishing.

"Serial Farter" gets away with it!!

Court Dismisses $1.8m Bullying Case Brought by Man Accusing Boss of Breaking Wind

"An Australian appeals court on Friday dismissed a bullying case brought by an engineer who accused his former supervisor of repeatedly breaking wind toward him.
The Victoria state court of appeal upheld a supreme court judge’s ruling that even if engineer David Hingst’s allegations were true, flatulence did not necessarily constitute bullying.
But David Hingst, 56, has vowed to take his case to the high court.
He had sought $1.8m in a suit against his former employer Construction Engineering, but a judge blasted the case out of the supreme court last year.
Hingst applied to appeal the case, saying “flatulence was a form of bullying” and his ex-colleague Greg Short was a serial farter.

The court of appeal ruled against Hingst on Friday, refusing to grant him leave to appeal and ordering him to pay the defendant’s legal costs.
“The application will be refused, with costs,” Justice Phillip Priest said.
In response, Hingst promised to take the case further. “I’m taking it to the high court,” he told the judges.
Hingst did not speak to reporters as he left court, with an item of clothing held over his mouth and face.
On Monday, Hingst gave details of the alleged bullying, saying Short would come into his small, windowless office several times a day and break wind.
“He would fart behind me and walk away. He would do this five or six times a day,” he said outside court.
He also said Short had abused him over the phone, used profane language and at times taunted him with gestures.
“He thrusted his bum at me while he’s at work,” Hingst told the judges."

Man sues parents for throwing out porn collection

An Indiana man is suing his parents for getting rid of his vast pornography collection, which he estimates was worth $29,000.

The 40-year-old man last week filed a lawsuit in federal court in Michigan, where he moved in with his parents in 2016 following a divorce.

He says that when he moved out 10 months later, they delivered his things to his new home in Muncie, Indiana, but that his 12 boxes of pornographic films and magazines were missing. His parents admit they dumped the porn, which included titles such as Frisky Business and Big Bad Grannys [sic].

The man filed a complaint with police but the Ottawa county prosecutor declined to press charges. The lawsuit includes an email excerpt from the man’s father, who told his son, “I did you a big favour by getting rid of all this stuff.”

The man is seeking triple financial damages of roughly $87,000.

Woman horrified by horses tied to trailer by their legs – but there's a twist

A concerned woman has shared photos of horses tied to an open trailer travelling at about 80km/h on a Melbourne freeway, but not everything is what it seems.
The woman shared the pics on Facebook, taken from the Citylink Freeway, on Thursday.

“Honestly, I think everyone was freaking out," she told 7News.
"They were strapped in so tight and the bigger one had ropes tied to its legs."

She added other drivers were beeping the ute and the freeway has a speed limit of between 80-100km/h.
She reported the incident to police and she shared the photos on Facebook.

But the woman need not be so concerned.
It turns out the horses were not real.

In a statement to Yahoo News, Victoria Police confirmed the incident was investigated and the ute driver won’t face charges.
“Investigators have been told the utility was seen travelling towing the trailer and horses on Citylink just after 8.30am,” police said.

“Fawkner Highway Patrol officers made a number of enquiries and determined that the horses are not real horses and were being transported for an Anzac ceremony.”

These vagina speakers let your unborn baby listen to music

https://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/vagina-s ... 00625.html

Gone are the days of turning the volume up on your stereo or placing headphones on your belly in the hope your baby might be enjoying some of your favourite tunes before entering the world.

At least, that’s if you’re open to using this nifty little device instead.

Introducing the ‘Baby-pod’, a tampon-shaped speaker which is inserted into the vagina and helps unborn babies hear music.

According to the company’s research, the small device stimulates neural development in the fetus through music.
It’s inserted the same way you would a tampon, then attach the audio cord to your ipod or phone and you’re good to go.

The price tag is $150, which isn’t cheap, and some have warned against using a speaker so close to your bub’s developing ears.

When we shared a video of the device on Facebook it certainly got some mixed responses.

“Don’t mums to be have enough rummaging in their vaginas by various people and objects through the course of their pregnancy,” one person pointed out.

“That is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard of,” another thought.

People also pointed out that babies have been proven to be able to hear things from the outside world already.

“But why? We already know they can hear through the belly. Just seems a pointless infection risk,” was one response.
“Pretty sure they can hear music without the need to shove a speaker up your bits.”

Aircraft Beechcraft Super King Air
Location Matsieng Aerodrome, Botswana
Fatalities 1

Description The aircraft impacted the ATC tower and club house at the Matsieng Aerodrome. The pilot and sole occupant of the aircraft was killed. It was rumoured that the pilot was involved in a domestic dispute earlier in the afternoon and was an uninvited guest at a function at the Matsieng Flying Club, located next to the ATC tower. The pilot made a number of low-level fly pasts of the club house from different directions. An immediate evacuation of the club was ordered. The final extremely low-level run resulted in an impact with the club house. It was destroyed along with the ATC tower and 13 parked vehicles.

Missing elderly man's bizarre act that led him to reunion with family

https://au.news.yahoo.com/melbourne-mis ... 05905.html

A persistent 92-year-old man on a mobility scooter refused to get off Melbourne’s Monash Freeway as traffic passed him at 100km/h.

Remarkable footage uploaded to Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page shows the elderly man, who had been reported missing earlier on Friday, slowly making his way onto the freeway from the merging lane of the Glen Waverley on-ramp about 3pm.

The driver of the vehicle behind him, who filmed the bizarre incident on his dashcam, approaches the man in his Audi and urges him to get off the road.

“Move over. You’re on the freeway... you’re not supposed to be on the freeway,” the driver named Bruce can be heard saying.

Yet the defiant man refuses and continues to drive along the freeway moving in between the left lane and the service lane.

Fearing for the man’s safety, Bruce stays behind him and calls emergency services.

“I just told him to try and pull over and he told me to f*** off,” Bruce told a triple-0 operator.

While the operator told Bruce he did not want him to risk his own safety by staying behind, the driver replied: “If I go off around him, he’s going to get collected.”
“He’s just driving along quite happily."

After driving about one kilometre down the freeway, a police car pulls up alongside the man in the service lane and manages to bring his adventure to an end.

Victoria Police told Yahoo News Australia in a statement the 92-year-old had been been reported missing by his family.

“A passing motorist spotted the 92-year-old man merging into traffic in the 100km/h zone and travelled behind him with hazard lights while calling triple-0,” Victoria Police said.
“Police quickly arrived and spoke to the Glen Waverley man and determined he had been reported missing a short time earlier by family members.
“He was taken to Glen Waverley Police Station where he was reunited with his family.”
