Is it possible to buy GPS in Hua Hin?
Does anyone know store in Hua Hin that sells GPS? Advice will be much appreciated.

You can use 'google maps' on most smart phones which is far superior to any onboard GPS systems.

Thanks for replies. I have Google Maps on my iPhone and iPad but, Google Maps have to use internet connection to set up road, GPS does not.

With Google Maps, as long as you start your journey within an internet signal, then it stays hooked up for the entire journey. I found that, to my surprise, when travelling in Thailand/Malaysia. I guess that it downloads the maps involved when you set up the journey, then works offline.

Another map that I have used is Sygic which works offline. I believe that Waze works similar to Google Maps in that if you set your map destination up when connected to the internet, it will continue to work while on the move.

Garmin Thailand offers units with lifetime map updates.

Not cheap but it will give directions in both English and Thai.

I, too, use Sygic. I purchased the SE Asia package many years ago and have transferred between phones with no problems at all. It is a fairly trouble-free app that has served me well. The one thing I like about it (and prompted me to purchase the package) was that it comes with lifetime map updates. It lives up to its promise on that and does support multiple languages.
Obviously nothing will be able to keep up with Google maps but a decent offline app with fairly up-to-date maps with just a one-time outlay is quite hard to beat.
