You have to wonder is these "experts" bother to look out of the window. The synoptic charts are showing the same weak westerly winds that that have prevailed for the last week or so. The huge area of high pressure over China is still blocking what little SW winds that there is.
Distribution On May 20, 2019: The stronger southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and Thailand. More rains are expected over the country with isolated heavy rains forecast for the East and the South while the rest of the country will see more rain tomorrow. The moderate wind waves in the Andaman Sea will lift up to about 2 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershower areas. All ships should proceed with caution.

It's been thundering where I am off and on for hours, but no wet stuff. Radar and satellite shows the upper gulf is ringed by storms just about so I would think something may happen tonight?

Overcast and hot in Bangkok. Weather coming in from the EAST! It did the same yesterday, and despite some thunder and lightning, only a very brief shower, and then it fizzled out.

Nothing in Rayong at the moment except clouds. Last rain was between about 0200-0400 this morning.

Lot of noise down here but when it came time the rain wouldn't have filled a teacup. No people down here, great time to visit, empty beaches, Sunday fishing trip.

Reasonable shower where we are and still raining although not very hard - I doubt if it was 1 cm in total, but better than nothing from a garden perspective

Are we the only people to get rain AGAIN?
At 3.pm in Moo1 Hin Lek Fai the heavens opened and the rain came down in monsoon standards with a wind strength I cannot not remember before. It stopped at 3.40 with the garden flooded . Sorry but we cannot be the only members having great rain over the past 3 weeks?

I was walking on the beach at that time yesterday and that storm system was a pretty dramatic sight as it towered over the area. I had to escape the beach for 45 minutes and walk around Blueport until the deluge eased off.

SW Monsoon cancelled due to all the disbelievers:
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………
https://www.tmd.go.th/en/
The southwest monsoon across the Andaman Sea and Thailand is weakening. Less rain will be likely over the country, but there remain outbreaks of thundershowers. The wind waves in the Andaman Sea are likely 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower areas. All ships should proceed with caution.
During 27-30 May 2019, the monsoon though will prevail across the North and the upper North while the southwest monsoon across the Andaman Sea and Thailand will strengthen. Increasing rain with isolated heavy falls are forecast with the moderate wind waves of the Andaman Sea and the Gulf. The height of waves is about 2 meters in the Andaman Sea and 2-3 meters in thundershowers areas. ...more
