Yes, the UK is cheap now, I traveled back through Heathrow recently and a pint of real ale in Terminal 5 cost me about 160 Baht. You can't buy a large draft beer in Suvarnabhumi for that!buksida wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 9:51 am Good time to visit the UK if you're spending Baht, Sterling hits a ten year low: https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from ... I don't trust children. They're here to replace us.

Travelling back from Huay Mongkpl this week, and I saw the roadside vendor selling pineapples at 4 for 100b..Good price, until I realised EVERY supermarket in the UK are selling them cheaper than this...Sorry for drifting off-topic some what.
Re: GBP vs THB
Just for information purposes. Boris is odds on to be PM but for the FX market he is a negative. Hunt on the other hand is positive. Bloody hell - but I still support Boris. So beware because the short term could well be grim for those selling sterling for baht.

Yes, a "No Deal" Brexit could knock it down to below 35 bt to the pound.Boris is odds on to be PM but for the FX market he is a negative.

Do you have any other good news you could share? Hopefully these people don’t know what they are talking about, but unfortunately that may not be the case.HHTel wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 12:55 am Have a look at this website. They have it down to 27 by 2023!

Yeh, I hope the same in that they haven't a clue. As far as 'good news' goes, I'd like to hear some. So anyone out there with any, let us all share in it!

Re: GBP vs THB
I think we should remain positive that providing Boris or whoever inherits the seat in Number 10 can do a deal with the EU, the GBP will increase from where it is now - how much and how quickly remains to be seen, as does the deal itself. As always, there are so many variables that we can do no more than second guess and hope!! That’s my half glass full scenario - the half glass empty one, is that we crash out of the EU with no deal and the £ continues to slide.
Re: GBP vs THB
Boris expects to renegotiate 'the deal'. Somehow I can't see that happening. All that can be done is to 'dress up' the following agreement. And now the motion to stop a future PM from leaving without a deal has been defeated. How did that happen when previously the house voted quite strongly against leaving without a deal.
(On a little side-note. Did you know that 'half full' and 'half empty' is impossible English? 'Full' and 'Empty' are absolutes and can't be modified.------ Sorry, I'm having a 'know-it-all' moment!)
